Welcome Marley (Bob that is)
Her is my new little guy...Marley (after Bob). He is #3 Chow and my first male. It's been so long since I had a puppy, I forgot how much work they were I'll take any advice on boy dogs as this is a new adventure for me.
Thought I would share my new pride and joy.

Re: Welcome Marley (Bob that is)
Oh boy is he gorgeous, he almost looks like my Ziggy. Having had both male and female, 1 of each IMO a female is easier. Ziggy is a wonderful dog and beginning to calm down but he certainly is rambunctious that our female was. What cracks me up is that he still does not light his leg to wee, just stands there and lets it rip! Wait that's my husband I'm talking about LOL. Seriously though at 4 1/2 months still stands. Welcome to the group! We love pictures

Re: Welcome Marley (Bob that is)
I can tell you from my experience, two male Chows. One was mild and the second, Max, was hell on wheels. I had so many nicks and cuts on my hands and lower arms, I lost count. He was born to BE Alpha Male. He is now 12 months old and mellowed out. But, in the beginning, he wanted to be boss at 3 months old. Nip, nip, nip. NO fear at anything. So, we taught him the bite inhibition, and start doing the Alph Male thing. You go first through any door. You "eat first". Fake eating his food before you give it to him. You're the boss and MAKE sure he knows it or he WILL be the boss. If he jumps on you, no petting. FOUR on the floor, or no attention. He will try to be Allpha unless some one else wants to show him different. If he really gets out of hand, give him time out and put him by himself. He will learn. Your the boss.

awwww... to have a puppy again So sweet. Love all the pics of him and your daughter on photobucket! My Steel is like that with my son Mikey. He sleeps at the end of Mikey's bed, even when he isn't there. LOL
Re: Welcome Marley (Bob that is)
Marley is four months here, getting a little rinse off in the sink (while he can still fit).

Re: Welcome Marley (Bob that is)
Very nice! The puppy times are so trying, I must admit---my husband and I were pulling our hair out for a while there---we hadn't structured our lives enough to accomodate for all the time, energy, and patience we needed. But after the adjustment phase, it just gets easier. And Paz is a real joy now.........nothing but positive energy, a complete ham! Now when I look back at the teeny tiny dog we had I wish I had made more time to just hang out with him.......it went to fast!
Enjoy the fun. Keep jamming, wap choo waa waa waa, i wantta jam it wich you..........don't you like jammin too?

We were in the car coming back from a long road trip and he was in the back snuggling with my older daughter. I looked back and thought it was so cute

Re: Welcome Marley (Bob that is)
Same road trip, but he thought he should spread himself around. Daughter was laying in the front seat with seat laying back and he climbed right up there, squished his furry butt next to her and they lay like that for over an hour That is lil'Dog in the background snoozing.
