True,I just love Akon's version of Mr.Lonely, and Eamon's I don't want you back isn't half bad either.Of course I might like Eamon because he used to sing doowop when he was 14,lol.redangie24 wrote:Now c'mon there is some good stuff in there you just have to fish through all the trash to find the treasures.Desi wrote:Now it's all rap and r and b

Ever listen to the King Biscuit Flour Hour? These are the lyrics to one of my favorite dittys:
Lyrics for: Shaddup You Face
'Allo, I'm-a Giuseppe,
I gotta something special-a for you, ready
Uno, duo, tre, quatro --
When I was a boy, just about the eighth-a grade
Mama used to say don't stay out-a late
With the bad-a boys, always shoot-a pool
Giuseppe going to flunk-a school
Boy, it make-a me sick, all the t'ing I gotta do!
I can't-a getta no kicks, always got to follow rules
Boy, it make-a me sick, just to make a lousy bucks --
Got to feel-a like a fool
Anna mama used to say alla time --
(Chorus:)
What'sa matter you?
Hey
Gotta no respect?
Whadda you t'ink you do?
Why you look-a so sad?
It's-a not so bad,
It's-a nice-a place
Ah, shaddap you face
That'sa my mama, I can remember
Big accordion solo
Ah! Play dat again,
Really nice, really nice
Soon-a come-a day, gonna be a big-a star
Den I make-a TV shows and-a movies
Getta myself a new car, but still I be myself
I don't wanna change a t'ing, still a-dance and a-sing
I t'ink about-a mama, she used to say;
(Chorus)
Mama, she said it alla da time;
(Chorus)
That'sa my mama
Hello, everybody
'At's out-a dere inna radio anna TV land
Did you know I had a big-a hit-a song in-a Italy
With a disc, "Shaddap-a you face!"
I sing-a dis-a song, alla my fans applaud
Dey clap-a da hands, dat-a make me feel-a so good
You ought to learn-a dis-a song, it's-a real-a simple --
See, I sing:
What's-a matter you
You sing Hey
Den I sing-a da rest and den at de end, we can all-a sing:
Ah, Shaddap-a you face
O.k., let's-a try it, really big:
Uno, duo, tre, quatro
What'sa matter you? (Hey!)
Gotta no respect? (Hey!)
Whadda you t'ink you do? (Hey!)
Why you look-a so sad? (Hey!)
It's-a not so bad, (Hey!)
It's-a nice-a place
Ah, SHADDAP YOU FACE!
OK one more-a time for mama!
What'sa matter you? (Hey!)
Gotta no respect? (Hey!)
Whadda you t'ink you do? (Hey!)
Why you look-a so sad? (Hey!)
It's-a not so bad, (Hey!)
It's-a nice-a place
Ah, SHADDAP YOU FACE!
I used to tell folks to Shaddup you face, and if they never heard it, they gave me a look like I should be commited. If you are of the Italian persuasion, it is meant in fun. Send all PMs if I offended you to Lou. Thank You.

That song really is offensive, but I'm Italian and am not offended.
If we give that kind of silly stuff power over us, all that happens is we lose. It isn't worth the energy, ya know?

Jenn & Orso the Magnificent!
zingara_princepessa, My step Dad was Italian and hard core Italian but me being the mouthy Child I was at the age of 7 used the word wop once in referring to him as I left the room, He made it clear that wasn't the appropriate word to use. But as far as Doowop, Alot of those doowop groups and solo singers were Italian.

Yea I know you were kidding I was just telling about the first time I learned what the word wop meant, I'm not sure if it was the fact that a 7 year old was calling him a wop or it was a 7 year old calling him a Dumba&s Wop, one of those words did upset him, and yes he did cause bodly injury.zingara_princepessa wrote:Jeffy, I was SOOO messing around. I really don't care. It's all good.
Did you step-dad make it clear not to call him a wop by throwing something at your head? That's the usual Italian way...inflict bodily injury now, talk later...teehee!
Desi what does DH mean?
The very first girl I ever kissed was Italian, I Wonder if she is still a cute young Italian girl like she looked in the park that day.
I dated mostly Italian
My first wife was Italian, My daughter is half Italian.
Hmmmmmmmmm Ya know, I don't like Italians.
