Farewell my friend, Chandler
Farewell Chandler. We miss you so much.

Chandler was a great friend. Not only did people love Chandler, but it seemed all dogs had a connection with him.
Once they met him, they thought that he belonged to them.

Not once in his life did he ever get aggressive. He was just a sweet old soul. Never in a hurry. Just took life slow and easy. At times he loved to play. He use to run back and forth wanting you to try and catch him. However, sleep was probably his favorite hobby.

The following photo was taken on Chandler's last day. Look how pretty he looks. That was one reason it was so hard to take the news about the tumors blocking his airwaves.

Thank you for this avenue to show others how special my Chandler was. Just going through the stack of photos of his life brought back many happy memories. He'll be missed.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words. It has almost been a month now since I had to say good-bye to Chandler. As many of you know, the heartache continues. I think about him everyday and miss him so very much. Your words and kindness help so much.
I hear people say that when a person passes on...they don't want to talk about the person who has passed on because it will make the person grieving sad. I would have to disagree. I think people want to talk about their loved one.
I want to talk about Chandler. I want people to bring up his name. I want to share stories and my happy memories.
So, thank you all for allowing me to share.

Judy...Thank you for your message. I know that this is a really hard time for you. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain you must be going through having to say good-bye to your mother.
I remember when we lost my grandmother, my mom's mother.
My mom said no matter how old you are when you lose your mom, it's makes you feel like an orphan.
My prayers are with you. I'm sorry that your mom is no longer here. But, I hope you will find comfort in knowing you will be with her again.

This just brings me to tears. It's been 7 months since my Moses died and I too remember that ride, the look they have the last day and just somehow we all knew, the chowboy and me that it was time. I haven't brought myself to post a memorial for him but I do intend too. I am sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is. Chandler was a very handsome sweet boy.
Chandler
Dont know what to say just want to add my condolences to you and your family.Chandler looks quite content in all your photo's.That reflects well on you.Hard to fool a chow.I hope your grief passes soon and I know the bulk of your memories will be happy ones.

Thank you again for all your kind replies. I lost Chandler December 14th. and still think about him every day.
My heart just seemed so empty without Chandler that I decided to go on a mission to look for an older chow that I could give a good home to. I wanted to give some unlucky soul the chance to be loved...in a way to honor Chandler's life.
And, look who I found. His name is Seymour. They said he is 12 or 13 years old. He has lived in the shelter his entire life. The volunteer who helped me get him said he has lived his entire life in an "indoors 10x10 cage on a concrete floor" with up to 4 or 5 other dogs. He didn't know what a soft bed was...or green grass under foot.
We all know how chows love to be outside during the winter months! My heart immediately went out for Seymour...so I went and got him. And, what a prize I found in Seymour.
I don't think he knew his name. It was just a petfinder internet name I'm thinking. But, I'm keeping the name...and he's learning it.
I got him last Thursday...and he's doing great. He wags his tail all the time. I think he is very happy. He has a wonderful disposition...He acts a lot younger than his years...He plays with his new found toys...and is getting along with my other dogs.
Of course, he is use to hiking up his leg whenever he wants...so we're working on that when he's in the house...with a watchful eye on him at all times.
He sleeps in the house and loves his new bed!!
I brought him to work today....and he was wonderful.
After exploring for awhile, he laid down by my desk getting up only when I did to follow me into the other offices.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Here are the photos of Seymour that were on Petfinder. I will send "Seymour at his New Home" photos as soon as I get some good ones.
