Meet my new pup Django!

Post by natashalindley »

So today my boyfriend and I picked up the gorgeous Django! It feels like so much has happened in half a day already. We picked him up and he was perfect in the car, he laid on my lap and got lots of cuddles from me while the boyfriend was driving. The breeder said he has only been potty trained on puppy pads so I was prepared for a few accidents as we don't own any. We got him home and straight on the patio straight away! He then came out of his shell more, following me and my boyfriend around the house. He even began to play fetch with the ball!!! He then got hyper and started nipping so I picked him up for time out...and then he growled. I didn't say anything, I just put him in a different room for two minutes and then let him out and ignored him for another two minutes. Me and my boyfriend just had to stare at each other for this time as he kept sitting by our feet and we were scared we would break because he was too cute. The next time he mouthed and tore my blazer (by accident of course) I just moved away and ignored him. We had to ignore him when eating dinner too as he kept pawing us for attention. When he calmed down we gave him so many cuddles and he runs to his when we make a sound to stroke him. He kept sniffing the floor so every time he did that I took him outside (probably taken him out fourteen times so far) an he peed twice more out there and got treats for it. Other than the biting he has been amazing. I put my hand on the floor and he decided to lie on it and fall asleep! Also he hasn't pooed yet and its been 9 hours but he keeps farting so I know he wants to go!

I would start using a high pitched noooo to him when he starts nipping and biting. He will get the idea for housebreaking chows are very easy it house break in my opinion we got are boochie at 9 weeks old I brought him outside EVERY 20 minits first 2 days we had him and never had an accident in house don't use wee wee pads or newspaper and one last thing socialise, socialise, and socialise we started walking boochie the day we got him and talking him up pet smart walking around letting people pet him as much as we could he will be 2 years old this august and is a verry social chow loves other dogs and when he's with us anyone can give him a pet on the head when company comes over there's never a problem but he still is an excellent watch dog. You have a verry gourgeous pup just take the time to socialise him and you will have a great companion for many many years good luck. Did I mention socialise him !!!
