Mucinosis ?

Mucinosis ?
Has anyone heard or had any experience of MUCINOSIS?
Maisie has a lump on her tummy near her vulva and we took her to the vet. He took plug samples and sent them off to the laboratory for examination and the result was a diagnosis of Mucinosis.
I have to take her back to the vet tomorrow to have her stitches out . He wants us to take her to another vet in the practice who is an expert on skin conditions.
We are a touch concerned as we don't want to be "ripped off" as Fred puts it!
We have another appointment with the other vet on Wednesday and would like to have as much information as possible before we go. 
Any comments would be appreciated.

I will print it off after and have a good read of it. It does seem quite technical but I will take my dictionary to bed with me and have a good old read.
