Emma's limping, but no pain; why???

Emma's now 5 years old and has always been as healthy as a horse. She runs, jumps off the deck, does stairs, jumps on and off the bed, etc. with never an issue. Today, however, I noticed she is limping and sort of babying her left rear leg. I've looked for cuts or injuries on her foot pads, flexed and pushed on her knee hips, toes, etc. with no reaction (other than her look which says, "what the hell's your problem?". I clipped a nail that I thought might be too long, but no difference.

There seems to be no pain associated with the limp and she's still racing up the stairs and able to jump up and down on the bed. I'm concerned, but what else can I check?

Loo once had a nail/toe infection! He was limping, I was freaking out, turns out it was a toe issue!

What did the infection look like? I've been looking and still don't see or smell anything unusual with that foot. Recently, she did lauch off the deck to see my partner, Dave. The deck is three steps high and she used none of them. I'm hoping maybe it's a sprain. Still, this morning on the way downstairs, she lost her footing and stumbled on the steps. Nothing seems to fase her. If there's no improvement this week, we're off to the vet.

You can't really say per se there is no pain at all. The fact she is limping means there is some degree of pain. Unless she grew her leg short - which is not possible -
Keep an eye on rheumatism. Or inflammation. Bring her to a vet for a check up and see if they can provide you with the answers. Good luck and let us hope it isn't serious.

Thanks for the reply; she has actually stopped limping and seems perfectly fine again (well, other than a sore neck from fighting with the neighbor's German Shepherd again yesterday!).
