Torn ligaments
My chow recently limped on three legs. At the vet we were informed the one of the ligaments on the hind leg was torn and the other hind leg, the knee cap has moved sideways. This meant that the chow will have to undergo operations on both legs to rectify the 2 problems resulting in a substantial amount of money.
It was not 2 - 3 days later than the chow was back to normal and running around again like a lunatic when been played with. Im afraid to take her on walks now in case she has another "leg up" situation.
Is this normal for a torn ligament.
dd.

If it is torn they will not go back to normal. It is possible that it was only the kneecap that shifted. Did they do x-rays or did they just do an exam?
My Chow went through 2 acl surgeries. When his legs went out, they did not get better without surgery.
