Mabel is happy again
Mabel is happy again.
Last night she had a lovely game running around with Matilda and Maisie and this morning she has been able to snooze under her pampass grass after her breakfast.
It has taken a long time but there is a twinkle in her eye again - we thought we were not going to see it again.
She has missed Milly so much. I am glad to have my Mabel back again.

Oh it makes me so happy to hear that Judy...Mabel enjoying life again!
It's sad that Milly has gone...I'm still missing my Troy big time. But Sheena is doing well and is happy!
YAY for Mabel back in the swing of things...there will be plenty of antics going on now! Be forewarned!
Oh, Matida and Maisie are truly cutie pies!

Re: Mabel is happy again
This morning we decided to give Mabel her long needed bath. The weather was beautiful yesterday and the day started beautifully this morning.
I made the preparations and Matilda and Maisie were very interested. When we called Mabel she knew what was going to happen and cleared off behind the settee.
Anyway, the bath happened and when she went out into the front garden to shake and get rubbed with her towels, Matilda and Maisie both stood and licked her to try and get her dry. They were a little bothered that she was wet. I am so glad that they love her and she them and that they all get on so well.
I am sure that they have helped her get through her period of mourning for Milly.
She looks so much better now the bath is done and all we need to do now is trim her then she will look nice again.

I'm so glad Judy. I had a feeling that given enough time she would get through the mourning and accept Milly's loss and move on, just like people have to. It's during these times when you really wish they could talk and express their feelings. But all you can do is try and give them what comfort they will accept and let them take their time.

JUdy how lovely to know that she has acccepted the puppies and is now learning to handle her loss of her sister, it always seems to take a long time for them especially when they are so close as they were.
Hugs to all of you

Re: Mabel is happy again
Thank you everyone.
We are happy to see Mabel so much happier and this afternoon our daughter Carolyn popped in to see us and "The Squirts" ran to welcome her and Mabel! Carolyn made a fuss of them and then turned to me and said "Mabel has happy eyes again!"
So she noticed immediately.

Thank you - she is gorgeous isn't she? She will be 10 yrs. old in September and you can see how content she is. She is certainly like my own precious Mabel now, thank goodness.

She is looking lovely, yes it's hard to believe she will be ten this year, just a few months younger then my Chrystal, and the older they get the lovelier they get.
Re: Mabel is happy again
Glad to hear Mabel is getting her spirits up again. She is such a love! Love the pics of her relaxing under the pampas grass. Bigs hugs to her from across the pond!

Thank you - I have told her you sent hugs - tried to give her one but it is too hot - she just grunted her approval.
Re: Mabel is happy again
Mabel is lovely as ever. I didn't know she was a mature 10 years old.

Re: Mabel is happy again
That is a beautiful picture of Mabel. It's so good to hear she is more like her old self! It takes time...for chows and people to grieve, but life goes on. I hope Mabel has many years to enjoy the girls.
