Post by chris »

ok, either it's in the name that I gave my furkid, or ... he is part retriever.

He "steels" everything.... shoes, FOOD, paper, bags, keys, rocks, toys, especialy stuffed ones, cell phones, undies, socks.... shall I go on? ( oh yeah, and he will steel kisses too  )

Reminds me of a story when my son was 3 yrs old and Nala was just a pup. My son had a curious george that he carried everywhere he went. Nala had a stuffed plush shark chew toy from the pet store. So my son was teasing her by taking her toy and running with it. She would chase after him and try to get it back, but he would jump on the couch and she was too little to get up there. He would just laugh and laugh. So she gave up and went about her business. About an hour later when all was forgotten, or so he thought, she snuck up on him and ripped george from his grip and ran around the house in that crazy chow run that we all have seen! He was furious! Chasing after her, yelling, screaming, and finally crying. That was 12 years ago and I can still see Nala "laughing" with that evil chow chow grin! Needless to say he never teased her again!

Sheena loves to possess: Towels, paper, FOOD from the garbage, my used socks (but no undies but then I haven't been leaving them around  ) and did I say my paper bills ( I wish she could pay them.)!

I think they are called chow-chows for a reason. They like to chow-down on anything that will get your attention!

LOL... Koda has my cell phone personally decorated with imprints of his puppy teeth... and the boy STILL loves empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls. I did catch him in the garbage today also.... trying to sneak a wrapper off of an ice cream bar. You'd think by the way he acts that the boy never eats, but I can guarantee you he hasn't gotten to his massive 60 pounds plus at 9 months old eating empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls or making a meal of my new leather purse (excuse me... hand bag LOL) and matching leather wallet or chewing on my cell phone. There are at least 5 of us at work who have the same cell phone, and thanks to my Koda, it is quite obvious which cell phone is mine. :)

LOL The thing is, chows are not destructive. I have had puppies that have chewed up anything and everything. At least with a chow, they are "selective" about what they chew up. LOL

Milly and Mabel love to collect things and if we mislay something, we very often find it in one of their beds - half hidden under their blankets! :)
When Milly was a little chowling, she used to love to have the little St. Bruno box. Fred smokes a pipe and the St. Bruno tobacco used to come in little yellow boxes - they have changed the packaging now but then, she would sit patiently whilst Fred unpacked the tobacco and put it in his tin then she would take the little box gently and just "have it". Mabel was never bothered but our daughter's dog Hector knew she liked the little box and would grab it from under her nose or wherever she had put it and run round and tease her with it.
She would race after him and one of us would have to get it back for her.

:D Niosa loves to take our towles out of the laundry, socks & anything else she can find LOL......

But, one night we were cooking dinner and we were surpised when she chewed the coner of our grandfather clock

Well the baby gate went up that night!!
Well she can jump over the gate, So Niosa scared herself when the gate fell, She no longer jumps the gate to that room anymore

That was the first thing Niosa has chewed on furniture wise....
She LOVES stuff animals that make any noise, also her sister's stuff animals of course! ....

My little Cookie used to love toilet paper rolls.

And Brandon will take money out of my purse - if I just stuff a dollar bill down in there in a hurry when I'm leaving the store, he will get in my purse and get it out.
I'll find it laying in the hallway or someplace.

Doesn't bother other papers in there for some reason.

Or if there's an open snackcake in my purse, he'll get it out and eat it. Doesn't bother sealed ones.

I guess he must go through my purse everytime I get home, I just don't notice it unless one of those two things were in there.

Not Rogan. If we throw a ball, he looks at us with the "Um... you lost your ball" and goes back to lounging in the shade. Our son leaves his toys/stuffed animals all over the place. Rogan never touches them. Nina, on the other hand, collects them. But she's a rottie, so she doesn't count.

Michelle... Thats how Thor used to be when he got older.
I would try to get him to play with a ball.. I would throw it and he wouldn't move.. and gave me that look.. "your joking eh?" and still didn't move... would sometimes watch it roll wright by his nose without even moving his head.. just his eyes.

*L* Rogan's been like that since he moved in at 7 1/2 weeks. We can still get him to play every once in a while, but he wants to be chased. No catch, no toys, nothing.

He's such a goofball. I love him.

Haley never was one to play with dolls as a small child. She didn't like that they were hard. She has a monsterous amount of stuffed animals, and Lily was partial to a blue teddy bear she got at a carnival. She would steal it from it's tub, and run downstairs with it, then lick it til it looked moussed. I would take it away and put it on the couch to dry, and the lil' dickens would grab it when I wasn't looking. She seems to have matured out of the behavior though.

Benny has always followed the Rogan Doctrine on balls. "I did not loose any balls, so I'm not chasing any balls." A couple of days ago, one of the neighbor kids was throwing the ball for Lady to bring back, while Benny lay under the tree an watched. He finally got the idea that the ball was something worth having, so he actually got up and grabbed it. Then he just took it back under his tree and kept it. If Lady wants it, it must be worth having.
