Foster and Transportation Help

Post by Larry Harris »

Hello Everyone,

There is a Chow girl down in AL that needs help Laura has posted in Chows needing homes. This little black Chow has been confined for a year and a half since her rescue dad passed away. Laura does not know how much longer she has. Any any rate we can hopefully as a group get her to safety. This brings me to the subject:

We need a foster home to hold this girl until we can get through neighbor problems. Seems our neighbors do not like dogs and have called the sheriff on us. So far everything is ok but we need to keep our numbers down for a bit. 15 to 17 is a bit extreme according to the township, what do they know???

So can anyone foster for us until after the 10th of July? If yes then then next question is who can help with transport?

This info is old but the best we have right now. http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displa ... id=9395497

Larry,
I may be able to help with transport if you can get her to at least southern Illinois (the closer better), I am STILL unemployed and gas prices are way to high.
Terrina told me about your neighbors the other day UGHHH! And the daring thing she has on her shoulder now (Mini Me)
I have a thought of a foster, but I will have to check.. I will make calls tomorrow.
Have Terrina give me a call and we can see what we can do.
HURRAY on Makeda getting adopted (gas money well spent there!)
Talk to you soon Larry,
Take Care

Larry I can help with transport from central Illinois up some depending on when you're transporting. I work midnights Monday-Friday. Gas prices here are terrible... Illinois has to add their tax on to it to make it worse than it is. So maybe if we can break transport up a little more than usual if there are enough volunteers, the gas prices wouldn't hurt so much. At any rate, PM me with details, OK?

Update -

We now have a foster for this little girl, next step transportation. Thank you to those who are able to transport. Would you please PM me with your address so I can start the transportation process.

Laura, what do we need to get this girl pulled? Will you be able to hold her for a short time at your home? BTW the foster mom is a list member =D= I have not asked yet if she wants her name listed.

Little no name Chow is going to PA so everyone in between AL and PA please see if you can help hold transport. What should little balck chow be named?

Her foster home is Bernville PA 19506 so you can see if transportation help is possible.

Starting point Pelham, AL ending at Bernville PA 19506

Larry this is wonderful! I sent you an email..please call me and I checked mapquest. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/Pelham+AL/bernville+PA/
Total one way seems to be 13.5 hours/859 miles.
Anyone in N.E Tenn, Va, W. Va, Maryland?
I can pull her and get her started on her way. Knoxville is about 4.5 hours from me so I can definitely do that much or more but it will need to be fri/sat/sun...next weekend perhaps?

I can't figure out how to post the map on here. Just go to mapquest.com and type in Pelham, Al as starting location and Bernville, Pa as ending location. It is the Pelham in Shelby County when it asks you which Pelham.

I am very happy she's found a home and I'm sure she'll get a lot of love

Btw, her and Nova's resemblance is incredible:

Well it's looks close but really isn't in my line of fire. I'd have to drive 120 miles just to touch that path. If she is to go 59>75>81 then I don't see me in part of that. If she were to come through to Atlanta then I could take her to Chattanooga or Knoxville.

Try this route out.

Yup... the track as it is, is way out of my scope also. But if something happens and for some reason she needs transport through Illinois, please let me know.

I could do a VA transport by way of Interstate 95 (not 81) on Sunday. I'm in the Richmond area.

Oh boy this is a long transport so I am going to turn it over to the professionals and let them set the legs. I will post them here and hopefully we can fill several of them. Thank everyone for stepping up =D=

We after a lot of back and forth we have decided that this little girl is coming to TLC here in Michigan. The owner has put up a for sale sign in the lot and we decided to get to safety a bit sooner then planned.

Laura is going to put her in a plane and send her this way. I want to thank Laura and Michelle without these two ladies the fate of this Chow would have been bleak. Oh and thank Michelle's chowkidz for getting shots in anticipation of the foster. Don't be to mad at us there are so many that need help you will have a foster brother or sister soon.
