Raising cattle for food doesn't mean you have to abuse while they're alive !

My 13 year old starts silly arguments every time he gets the chance, pretty much like you do.
His excuse is puberty.
The fact that his iq is 128 and he only gets 100's on his report cards, show intelligence is no guarantee for adult behavior.

Jeff,if we were both single I'd take you out on a date, maybe even Taco Bell.Does that make me gay now that you're declared female by Nuke??
Raising cattle for food? Are you CRAZY? That is against their interests. The need lawyers!
Just kill slaughter them in a nice way and it's all okay?

Take a stupid, liberal stand like Jeff did, then expect to be called it.

Animals have rights as sentient beings, like Jeff says!. Which is it? They either have rights or they don't.

I don't get it? If they die from old age, what could be better?

Maybe the slaughter house?

Why do you have to make EVERYTHING into an argument!? Do you just like critisizing people? I for one do eat meat but that doesn't mean I want to see animals that are breed for food to be abused. I don't see why you can say someone is stupid for believing in something you don't! Whoopty friggin' do! For all I care your ideas can go jump off a bridge and hopefully hit a rock at the bottom! As soon I figure something out that might really hurt you that's gonna have to work.

Look at that Nuke, Now you have a 16 year old calling you a dumb a^s, And what's with the "Why can't we get along", First you think you are Batman hiding under Guest now you think you are Rodney King.

Tippsy, don't worry about it Nuke cracks me up, He's like a science project he makes for a great character study. Its hard to believe he is allowed to be in public. If I were you I would make Nuke a term Paper or If I were in the Movie business I would make a movie about him but Rainman, Coco's nest and deliverance have already been done.

Nuke just says anything right or wrong to get people to notice him and will say anything to get anyone to talk to him. I'm the only one that actually responds to him so he comes to me. People warn me all the time, Quit talking to nuts and drunks but I never listen.

So Nuke, What exactly do you believe?

1.THE RIGHT of animals to be free from exploitation, cruelty, neglect and abuse.
You believe that it is ok to physically beat, starve, burn, etc. the animals.

2. THE RIGHT of laboratory animals not to be used in cruel or unnecessary experiments.
You believe that it is ok for labs to pour shampoo in rabbits eyes, or test the effects of pomegranet juice on their eyes.

3. THE RIGHT of farm animals to an environment that satisfies their basic physical and psychological needs.
You believe that a cow should live its life in a 3' by 8' stall, never seeing the outside, eating dry grass with parts of other dead animals in it and all kinds of drugs to make them grow faster and make their meat appear better.

THE RIGHT of animals to have their interests represented in court and safeguarded by the law of the land.
You believe that people like Vick should be allowed to walk away without any kind of punishment for severe abuse and murder of those dogs?
I'm starting to think maybe you have trouble understanding what the legislation means... So here's an example for you:

What if Ziggy escaped and people that found him poured boiling water on him? hit him with a hammer? tied him to their truck and dragged him around the town? They should be able to just walk away with no reprocussions????

If you believe that, you should consider rehoming Ziggy before you go over the edge....

I signed Jeff!

I think this is a great start, however
I would like to keep the momentum going
by putting out education on being animal savvy.
It seems our society has welcomed animals into
our live without know much about them.
Many problems could be circumvented if
everyone who had an animal read
"UNDERDSTANDING ANIMALS 101
I think that is what I will name my book!!

It would also help In Animal 101 if People thought Breed and not Dog and understood the characteristics of what they were getting. A Dog is a Dog is what causes alot of the problems.

Send a Free copy of your book to Nuke or bill me.

Okay, most of you in this thread are crazy.

If you think animals have rights, then you are crazy. Pretty simple.

How many of you consume products made from animals and/or gleaned by the killing of animals by the evils humans?

Any animal on earth just wants to survive. Man is an animal too. Man just happens to be at the top of the food chain.

Animals have no rights and they never will. We have laws that punish people who abuse certain animals, like dogs. That does not mean that animals have rights.

Why is it that some animals can be slaughtered by man, and others are "protected"?

What do you mean Most?, Looks like everyone but you to me. Whats going on right now with Rebecca and being told to get rid of her Chow is a good example of what comes from idiots like you, your thinking and people being pushed around. High IQ? yeah right, in what world.

I mean just what I said.

And what does Rebecca have to do with animal rights?

You are way too emotional, Jeff. Kind of reminds me of women.

My stance is that animals do not have rights. Animals are just animals..

How come I never hear you crying about all the turkeys that are slaughtered every year, so that we can have a nice thanksgiving? Don't the turkeys have rights?

Liberals crack me up.

"And what does Rebecca have to do with animal rights?"

See what I mean? Way to deep for you. To bad Jerry Springer isn't on at night so you would have something to do.

I could remark that it sometimes seems Nuke suffers from pms,but he'd only come up with a silly emotional answer,so I'll just not hit the submit button on this one.

So if animals don't have rights or shouldn't have rights as you are arguing, and if we are animals (which I agree with, we are animals) should we not have rights either??

Do I need to spell everything out? Or not be as figurative, maybe you as a male don't understand.... Escaped, not as in prison but as in he escaped from your back yard, maybe some kids let him out... i'm using this as an example... punishment now is a slap on the wrist to begin with. This has nothing to do with not killing animals for food, but with providing them with a quality of life while they are alive.

I'm not sure what this has anything to do with women. I'm sure certain that most women on this site are much more intelligent and non-emotional then you think, we just low tolerance for dumb people....

I guess you're right... It's just the whole emotionally challenged thing has got me where I get REALLY irritated REALLY fast. And with my parents constantly on my case I just never get a chance to calm down... until it's time for me to go to bed...

I wonder what my teachers would think about that term paper... LOL!

I just want to know if it's okay to eat meat. Maybe I am eating a sentient being, but it tastes so good.

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.

With God as our Father,
brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother,
in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,

To take each moment and live each moment
in peace, eternally.
Let there be Peace on Earth,
and let it begin with me.

if you believe in what the bible says, man was created as the GUARDIAN of all things created by God. guardian meaning "he takes charge" of those beings/things - in the sense that he "takes care" of them but he was alowed to take "something" from them so he and his offsprings could survive to take care of the others.

But then, even if you're not a believer of God, think about this - why were we given the ability to rationalize, to think. to speak? why were we given a capacity for technology if it wasn't to improve lives. Aborigines do have wise words in saying "take only what you will use."

I'm digressing a bit but on the animal issue - every living being do have rights. If it weren't for selfish people, my, we would not have made some of the animals extinct by overkilling them - poaching and selling their hides, tusks and "salelable" parts for some loose change. If people did not THINK and ACT like idiotic and barbaric hacienderos, we would not have gotten animals who were abused, killed and sold for profit and the likes and think of them only as possessions. Animals have rights too - and they also have some purpose, but we have neglected and abused their very purpose of sustaining us because of man's selfish desires. They can't fight for themselves since we are far more intelligent than they are - but can't we use this intelligence to finally be a REAL GUARDIAN for them?

I wish I could sign this petition - but since I am in another place....

Kudos to the brains behind this move.
