About... Terry Majamaki

Post by Zhuyos mom »

Hey Everyone!

Thought you like to know a little about Terry. He's the nice fellow who started and maintains chowchow.org alive for us!

Nosy and curious, like Zhuyo and Pooh Bear, I asked him "why chows?". He hasn't had time to post a page about him. So, with his permission, I thought you'd like to "meet him" by reading about him.

Oh, before I paste his response to my "why chows?" question, I just wanted to remind everyone how we felt each time the old site would not log on and be unavailable to us. You know, that "oh, it must be gone now" and that "I'm going to miss everyone there" feeling. Well, if you click on the "home" menu, there is a donation paragraph on that page. I don't mean to make this sound like a solicitation, but just a reminder that along with the passion of chows in his heart, all this (the site) does comes out of his own pocket.

Anyways, here's "About.... Terry!", Enjoy!

Back in 91' -94' I lived and worked on a farm with Prudence Baxter in
Sonoma County in Northern California. She was well known for her show
chows and at the same time she also rescued chows. So on the farm there
was a large kennel and about 30-40 chows that were a mix of her chows and
various rescue chows.

Since then I've always had a soft spot for chows and I understand and
admire them more than most people do. Especially in a world where the
breed is misunderstood by so many.

It was in 92' when I first got a computer and got on the Internet. At the
time chowchow.org was the first foray into making a web site and I've
always taken care of it since then.

You can read more about my history and me here.

Thank you Lou - on the old site, I often thought about who looked after it and like you, I was scared it was going to disappear and that would be sad. As it is, here we all are with new ones.

Wonderful and thank you Terry.
