Spinning Yarn from Chow Chow Hair

Post by ashamolly »

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I love seeing all the beautiful chow chows :D

Shedding season will be soon upon us, which means loads of fluff everywhere!

I spin yarn in my free time (usually from sheep, camel, or alpaca) but I've been wanting to give pet fur a try. I'd use my own, but my old lady just doesn't produce fuzz like she used to. If you'd be willing to donate your clean hair brushings from your chow (or any other fluffy dogs and cats), I'd be more than happy to pay for shipping so I can try spinning it :)

Here's a picture of my most recent batch of yarn spun from Merino wool

And this is my Paw-Paw (I discovered years after adopting her that Martha Stuart had a chow named Paw Paw too!)

Thanks!

I would be happy to send you some lovely red chow fur. It is indeed "that season". Send me a private message with your address. i also have a black chow but he is a senior and doesn't shed as much any more.
