Edit:Sophie passed away, was worried, but new puppy chosen!

I missed all the pics till now and reading through it is obvious you are following your heart. The first puppy is uncannilly like Sophie and the squooshie puppies are just gorgeous.

They really are so similar (which makes sense with the same Dad and Sophie's mom's sister is her mom), I found the photo of Sophie that age below on the left. I really hope this puppy finds an amazing home though - I feel attached to the darn dog and I haven't even met her! Definitely too close to Sophie for my emotions even though I was so initially drawn to her for the same reason that I almost got her - then Diva appeared at the last minute so I do think it was all meant to be. If anyone is looking for a cream chow pup, Sophie was such a wonderful dog, that I would be sure this one is too!

They are uncannilly alike though for me Sophie just had a certain something special that isn't visible in the other puppy. I am sure she will find a fabulous home so dont worry. The breeder sounds like someone who will take care to be sure.

Becki! I was told that this puppy looked like Lily when she was a puppy? I looked for small puppy photos in your posts but couldn't find any when she was really small, she's gorgeous now though!

Maybe it was just the colour that made me think of Lily she actually looks more like Izzie when I think about it.

Oh heavens!!! Izzy and Lily were such spectacular babes!!! It was I who mentioned Lily, because, as you know Becki, I just LOVE her wrinkly nose and I thought, perhaps Diva/Sasha might look like that as she gets older.

Lily was soo cute, but it's hard to tell because she was even littler then Diva is. I do agree Izzy has a very similar face!! Izzy has such a gorgeous wide muzzle! I imagine Diva will end up looking like a cross between the two

lily is sort of an inbetweener... not the modern, squishy types, but not a long muzzle, like the older types. I do love the squishy faced chows, but they can have health problems.

Becki - I was worried about the health aspects of the super smashed face chows too, but hopefully Diva isn't too squishy that this will be an issue - neither of her parents are that squishy faced so I think she'll grow out of it somewhat too.

There are so many new pups suddenly I just know I am going to get them muddled and start getting broody. In fact feeling broody already!

Your right Becki, Izzie doesn't have any health issues except when she gets excited and panty her eyes run but they have been checked for entropian many times and there isn't any reason that anyone can see. It is important to check eyes if they are runny because entropian must be very painful and can lead to ulcers and impaired sight.

Regardless of smooshy face or not, you know the right decision. It just happens. The nameless (for now) diva is a georgeous pup. Color is similar to our Teddie, but much more regal in her stance. She will be a beauty.

If Diva/Sasha is anything like my Chumley she will have an awesome peronsality...everyone loves my Chumley & he loves everyone. Although Diva/Sasha is a little more squishy faced (Chum has a different mom) this gives you an idea of how she may look grown:

Oh Chumley was ADORABLE as a puppy! Who is his mom? Diva isn't as squishy faced as she looked in that first photo - I think she might actually look quite similar - but I'll know for sure TOMORROW NIGHT!! whoohoo!!

I'm thinking of changing from Sasha to Sashi (Hindi for moon/moonbeam), but I'm still undecided

Chums mom was Morganna. Names are sometimes hard. We knew that Belle would be our girls name since she was the first newbie in 10 years in honor of our first chow Belvedere. However, Chumley was more difficult. I wanted to name him Big Z cause he was huge or Beaureguard (bo) to match Belle but my husband didnt like either. He was joking about 3 or 4 days after we got him that we should name him Chumley cause he looked like the guy on pawn stars. It just stuck
