I don't complain I may joke about it and agree there is a problem with gangs but in reality it doesn't effect me at all, if anything it makes going to LA more of an adventure, will I make it home alive, Its like a thrill ride at Disneyland and it doesn't cost a dime. I was born and raised in the Netherlands,nice little country,quiet,not a lot of crime.
In the 60's the government decided "tolerancy" was the greatest thing.
So anybody that wanted to move to the Netherlands was more than welcome.
There were plenty of jobs most people didn't really want ,so the newcomers,mostly from Turkey,Morocco and in the later years,Vietnam,had no problems finding jobs picking tomatoes,or picking up garbage.
The government in the Netherlands thinks nobody should have to be poor.So,if you're unlucky and your health is bad,you get sick pay.
The first two days you only get half pay ,after that you get full pay,some companies will only pay 80 %,you can't be fired while you're sick
Lots of people from Morocco and Turkey had families back home,in countries where the cost of living is much much lower than in Europe.
So they got migraines,or they hurt their back.They would live in cheap apartments,and send their pay home.
Some of them would go back after they made enough money,some of them would stay and have their families come over.
Of course their families were all welcomed to the country,and housed quickly.

Since the last decade there are a couple too many immigrants in the big cities.
Waiting lists for rentals are 5 years or longer.unless......you just moved to the country from Morocco or Turkey!!
The cities are unsafe,whole neighborhoods terrorized gangs of immigrant teenagers.
They were raised between two cultures,one that promites tolerancy,one that sticks with the old ways.
They realized working 8 hours a day isn't worth it.You can just get disability and stay home all day.

In December,there is a week which is called "the holidays".No Christmas,we just toss the whole mix into one week and call it something that can not possibly bother anyone.
Of course the fact that the muslims in the apartment above you setting their alarm for 3 am during "ramadan" might be bothersome is overlooked.

A lot of people in the Netherlands wouldn't mind moving to the USA.
Some of them call the American Embassy,asking how they are supposed to get the paperwork.
They are laughed at.Yo can enter in the lottery,if you're lucky you can get a visa that way,or not.
You can try and find an employer in the USA.He would have a hard time proving he really needs you.
You can find someone to marry,pay a lawyer a fortune,be interviewed but immigration ifficers that ask all sorts of odd question while you're biting your tongue because they are obviously from Cuba and they never had to go through the process you're going through and their English isn't even that good!

You have to be checked out by a doctor,you're tested for aids and ever other disease you might have brought form a rough country like...the Netherlands???
If you're lucky and your lawyer does his job well,you get to stay with your new husband.For the first 5 years there is a restriction on your citizenship.
If you commit a crime,you go back.If you get divorced,you go back.
I was a good girl,so I get to stay.(Don't worry,I'm not taking up a job,I brought my own money and my husband pays the bills.My child was the best reader in class 4 months after we moved here and we only spek English)

A friends of hours,hard working girl,has her own house ,and enough savings.Fell in love with a boy in Rumania.
They tried to get him a visa.There are no visa waiver flights from Rumania,because the government there knows very well people may not come back.
After paying the government hundreds of dollars for empty promises,they realized it could take 5 years for him to get out,and they decided to break up.
He should have just gone on vacation to Mexico.Would have been so easy to just enter from there.

It should be mandatory for every American to live in Europe for a year.Not g on vacation there,but actually live there,try and found a place to live and a job to pay the bills.After that year I am sure a lot o people would vote differently than they have now.

Mind you,I am not complaining,I love this country or I wouldn't have moved here.Just hoping tolerancy ,change and sharing won't be taken too far.

I haven't posted much lately because I have been in a catatonic stupor from losing my job.
Here I am almost 63 years old, just went through a horrendous bout with cancer and am still suffering the reprocussions{sp} of it both mentally and physically. Because of medical ignorance when I was 32 I was given surgery that has now made me have great bone loss and cannot stand or sit for long periods of time. However, I need an income and I will still do whatever it takes regardless of how I feel. Even with my "lay off" letter glorifying my work ethics, habits and claims of being let go through no fault of my own...I CAN'T get a real job in Cleveland, Ohio...because there "ain't" none to be had since our states' unemployment is so bad...and to add to that I am basically "unemployable" because of "discreet" age discrimination and medical premium discrimination. Yep...I have to take early retirement now and live off of that and unemployment as long as that lasts and it gives me a year less to worry as much...and God knows what will happen after that year...but I need to exist now! Doesn't mean I stop trying to come up with something new to make money...doesn't mean that I walk my Chows less because I feel sorry for myself and my aches and pains...nope..I intend to survive!

This post isn't about ME and my above problems...it is about my example of many people in the same boat. All these years I paid into social security and I cant get sh-t because I am not an illegal alien...I am not a lazy *Censored Word*...I don't have 16 invitro kids...I don't have a house to impress the world that I couldn't afford when I bought it.
Nope, I am just a dumb *Censored Word* who has worked honestly and hard for over 40 years, who alone, raised my son to be as good as he can be despite his genetic handicaps from his biological parentage and with no help from the government because my neighborhood wasn't poor or lazy enough to qualify. Even back then the REAL DISABLED couldn't get disability or help!!!
This isn't about the Democrats or the Republicans....it is all about the WEALTHY in this country who have siphoned off of the middle class until the well ran dry. The WEALTHY belong to both parties and both parties have just let it all be swept under the rug and ignored it all for WAY TOO LONG. This mess did not happen yesterday...the signs have been rampant for a long time and NO ONE did anything about it.

This country is bankrupt because the WEALTHY HAVE BECOME WEALTHIER and we have paid their bills and their taxes and they have STOLEN our lives and WE let it happen.
Our system is totaly antiquated in every way...we have let electoral votes determine who will lead our nation and that may have worked in 1776 but it hasn't worked since we became the greatest Nation on Earth...we give money to the citizens of the entire world and even let them come here a live for free and yet we forget our own and let them sink...we have let pharmecutical companies destroy our health system...we have let the most corrupt individuals be appointed for high leadership positions...we let financial institutions become stronger by squandering our savings...This all boils down the WEALTH and POWER.
Our country will eventaully turn itself around again....history is just an ever turning cycle.
But we can't let the WEALTHY control us anymore and that my friends is the REAL dillema.

And FYI for those who didn't know....I was a LEGAL IMMIGRANT from England at age 11. My Dad worked his rear off with NO HELP and left this world at age 69 proud of his accomplishments and most of all one of the PROUDEST AMERICANS that ever was. He taught his family well and we all became US citizens as soon as we were allowed and none of us ever looked back ...only forward and what we could do to be the best embodiment of our wonderful home and country...the USA.

Enron and Madoff and all these others that have bled the system dry are due to government deregulation. As soon as they deregulated our phone and power and such, the price tag went through the roof. Corporate greed took all the money that the companies made, thus robbing the share holders.

Never forget that the wealthy are the ones that pay your bills, even if you are a small business owner, because likely you are still relying on the wealthy. When you punish the wealthy, like the democrats like to do, they turn off the money supply. You can argue about health care and everything else till you are blue in the face, it won't do any good if the wealthy turn off the money supply. All that free stuff costs money, that means higher taxes. Is it right to over tax some, so that others can have what they need, I say no.

This is all very simple, but noone wants to do, all you have to do is adopt the Fair Tax law. It's based on sales taxes and the IRS is done away with. When the wealthy spend their money, they pay tax, there are no loopholes. When the middle class spends their money, they pay tax. When the poor spends their money, they pay tax. When the drug dealer spends their money, they pay tax. When illegals spend their money, they pay tax. Everyone pays the same percentage of tax, so everything is equal. If you don't want to pay tax, don't buy anything. Problem solved!

"Immigrants" are the reason wages are so low in what used to be good paying jobs, like construction. Legal American citizens used to make good money framing houses and doing construction work. American teenagers used to work at places like McDonalds and now even those jobs are taken by "immigrants". And what's the deal calling them immigrants? They are ILLEGAL ALIENS braking our laws and stealing identities and social security numbers. They are breaking our backs, not helping grow our economy.

There have been studies that show how much they cost us. For every worker that sneaks across the border, there are 5 others that come with them that just suck up resources. They get welfare, we pay for their kids to go to school, we treat them in ERs, and they fill our prisons..etc, etc. They live off the hard work and taxes taken from hard working American citizens.

People like to say that "immigrants" do jobs that Americans won't do, and that's a pile of horse crap. They took over jobs that used to pay well and drove the wages down to the point that no American could live off of them. And they are not usually very skilled that I have seen.

Illegals make up over 30% of our prison population. They get caught drunk driving, and they get a plane ticket home, wherever they are from, on the first offense. Second offense, they get a bus ride to the border. What happens to an American citizen? They go to jail and pay huge fines.

They all say the same thing "must be able to communicate, read and follow directions" I go to 3 differant community collages in three completely differant area's and I'm pretty much the only so called American walking around campus or in class. One class must have a hundred people in it, standing room only and I am the only American in the class, they are all Asian and middle eastern. Another class I take is all hispanic except me. Americans have become lazy, uneducated, sit around and complain all the time and expect the government to do everything for them. Industry and the times have changed its up to you to keep up with the changes, not Obama. we have the highest school drop out rate in the world, thats why we need skilled foreigners in this country and i'm not talking about south of the border unskilled day laborers even though they serve a purpose also.

We get rid of the illegals, then the wages will go up. Once employers don't have the option of paying a skilled carpenter only $8 an hour, they will go back up to over $20.00 an hour like they used to be.

There are 10 year old kids out there making millions sitting around playing games all day, thats called skilled. Conner is only 7 yet knows how to strip a pc down, install software and set up programs, make files and down load stuff of the internet (which we have to watch closely) We walk into a computer store Conner like most kids can walk up to any computer, PC or mac and feel right at home, A 7 year old kid is telling me how much ram I should get to run Premier and final cut (video Software) then I watch adults scratching there heads trying to figure on how to even turn the computer on. In today's world if your not comfortable around a computer no matter what the program being used you are considered illiterate, if you can turn a computer on you should be able to find a job.

When there are no illegals to hire at $8.00 and hour, the construction companies will have to pay higher wages to Americans, or else just shut down their business. Good luck getting rid of illegals with Obama in office...not that Bush did anything much either. I saw a news story last night that said they raided one factory and found 24 illegals. This freed up 24 jobs for actual American citizens who are already lined up to apply. The guy interviewed is worried that Obama will take away those raids. There should be raids every 15 minutes in every corner of every city in this country. People who are found employing illegals should be fined, jailed, whatever it takes to send the message that you do NOT employ illegals. Every morning as I drive to work I pass a lot full of them waiting for people to come by and scoop them up and put them to work for the day. It goes on all over this state all day everyday. Cops just drive on by...why is nothing done? I have been screaming about this for years. Why is nothing done?????????? Start with construction and lawn care companies and that alone would knock half of them out!

Bush did nothing to address the illegal alien issue and I don't think Obama will either.

It's going to be up to the states to get anything done. Arizona passed a very strict law last year; every employer has to run their new hires through a tracking and verification system before someone is hired. If a business is caught with illegal workers, there are huge fines per worker and your business is temporarily shut down. Second offense and the state pulls your business license permanently.

A couple of other states have passed similar laws.

That's the way to stop the illegals......but I don't know how many other states would dare pass laws like Arizona's. Politicians are afraid of losing the illegal Hispanic voters.
