just when you thought that life is boring

when you think that life is boring, apparently it isn't!!

My son called me at 7am to tell me that my newest grandaughter was arriving 6 weeks early and they were off to my favorite place University Hospital. {they also have the best babies hospital in the country}

As the day progressed the finally went in to do a C section and unfortunately, the placenta had grown into the uterus and my daughter in law was hemmoraging. She was critical and given 7 units of blood and had an emergency hysterectomy. She is in intensive care and hopefully doing ok.

I now have a beautiful little 4lb grandaughter, Madison Elizabeth who is doing well considering all of her hookups and heart monitoring. And when I held that little bitty hand it sure was awesome and gave me hope.

I pray that Mom and daughter will be able to go home in a week. My poor son...what an ordeal this has all become...he might as well move into the hospital for the next few weeks.

I was a premee. 8 weeks early and weighed 3lbs. 13 oz. After only a few days I dropped down to 3 lbs and stayed in the hospital for 2 months.

Congratulations Sharon, this is a nice looking baby, Some preemies are very skinny, your grand daughter looks great. Some hospitals have rooms available nearby. Maybe they do? Doesn't hurt to ask. I wish you and your family all the best.

congratulations grandma!! she is adorable. 4 lbs is a pretty good weight for being 6 wks early. my bf's daughter was 2lbs 8 0z. she is now top of her class in hs.
i hope your daughter in law gets better soon. what a scare.

Hi everyone,

just wanted to send another picture of my new miracle grandaughter...JR and Cheyenne's newest niece.
My daughter in law is doing well and came home this morning. Madison is progressing really well and may go home at the end of the week if she hits 5lbs.
Then Tuesday is my turn to hopefully get rid of the big C and start a brand new and better life.
