Reputable Chow Breeders in the Midwest??

Hi everyone, I've been wanting a Chow for a while now and have been looking into nearby breeders, but it seems they all come with a horror story or other..health problems, puppy mills, etc etc. Help!! Where did you get your chow, and what has your experience been like? Any recommendations much appreciated!!
