Some guidance....

Hi there,
I have owned a rough coated chow before and now I have a new Chow pup. I do not think he is 100% chow. (not that it matters, I love him to bits!) But I would like to know what you think he might be a cross with. The lady I bought him from sent me pictures of the dad a black chow and the mom is also chow ( I saw her, her fur is just a bit short, full blue tongue, lion mane the works.) Now you never know and I have asked her for more info on the dad but no response - I would just like to know what Blue is mixed with. He is 17 weeks and weighs about 39 pounds/18 kgs. He has a pink stripe on his otherwise blue tongue. His hair is short (the breeder said that the mom's hair was only fully grown when she was about one) Some days his ears stand up, other days they flop down. I've done so much research om different types of fur and ears and shedding. I have seen a few forums where people had a similar query and would appreciate your input (he fits all the personality traits of a chow though)
