Adopted adult Chow
Hi guys! I recently adopted an adult Chow. Although I can say that I am an experienced dog owner (having adopted 5 dogs and 2 cats), Teddy (my chow) proved to be a bit of a challenge... I love challenges though! I just need a few first hand info based from your experiences regarding the proper care needed for an adopted adult chow.
1st. Teddy was given to me due to the fact that his previous owner cannot attend for his needs anymore, so teddy is a thin and his fur coat was shaved and tangled.
2nd. He is quite ill tempered, and quite aggressive too.

That's what I love about chows! You have to earn their trust and affection.
Be patient with Teddy. It sounds like he has had a difficult time. Don't force yourself on him and he will eventually come around.
Bless you for giving this chow a home. We have two rescued chows and our patience has been rewarded.
