Need advice

Post by tracycaperton »

I am writing for a friend of mine in Indonesia. I asked him to join this forum, but he may not have time or energy. Here is my question of sorts. Recently his friend suddenly died at home at the age of 42. The friend had 2 Chow Chows, one of them with a pretty severe yeast skin infection. The dogs would not let the authorities near their master's body. My friend, who was a close friend of the deceased agreed to take the dogs on until the family could sell them.

He already has a dog and a cat in the home and the chows are behaving aggressively and to be sure, he's quite nervous never having owned a chow. He is having to keep them indoors and keep his cat locked away.

What sort of advise would you give him? I know he should NOT act afraid of them, but it IS a natural reaction. He is treating the dog's yeast infection. The man's family are staying in a hotel. They seem to be taking over the selling process (poor doggys!), but not the day-to-day caring for these amazing animals.

Help?
