diarrhea

Hi, my name is peter and I have the most adorable Chow who is 8 years old.
The problem is he has the runs all the time now. The vet changed his food to rabbit because she suspected allergies and he did great for a while and now it's back again. He's on two Metronizal which is a drug for Diarrhea without any solid results.
The vet is on vacation till next week. Meanwhile another specialist recommended a Colonoscopy and an Endoscopy to figure things out but I'd rather wait for the other vet to get back.
Anyone has a similar issue? Thanks much, Peter.
