New and proud Chow Chow owner

Hello, my name is Adriana and I have an 11 week old cream chow chow named April.
I got her when she was 8 weeks old and she is my first dog. After spending months researching and countless hours on this website, I made the decision to purchase her. A lot people have told me that I shouldn't get a chow as first pet especially with my 10 year old son in the house but April has been a blessing. She is good to everyone in the family. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. We are currently taking April to obedience classes and she also spends time with my best friend (who's a vet tech) at the vet hospital getting to know other dogs. I just wanted to know if I'm socializing her properly? I try to take April as many different places as I can.
Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
