Aggresive chow

Hi everyone.
I have a seven month old chow chow called King.I have had him since he was ten weeks old because I have read a lot that you must socialise a chow while still young I take him around to another home where there is a 3 year old german sheperd. We have not had any problems with the two of them until about two weeks ago.I noticed a lot of growling between them when they were together. This morning a huge fight broke loose between the two and my King was clearly the instigater of the fight. He would not let up at all. This other dog is very gentle and he atopped about two times but King was literally in his face taunting him.
I guess what I wanted to know is if this is an indicator that my dog is aggressive in general, because the other dog is not. They are both males so I guess it could be aterritory issue also.I want to get King a mate but after this I will definitely not get another male. Will he also fight with a female?
