Hello everybody! I'm Wing from Florida and I have a 5yo German/ Lab named Chuck as well as a 3yo Chow Chow named Belle. I've always had this question about Belle. The person that I got her from claimed that she is a pure breed Chow Chow and she does have the signature black tongue, but her nose seems pointier than a typical Chow and her tail isn't as curly either. Could she possibly be a mix?

Sorry for the late reply, just been so busy lately...

Yep, she appears to be a full bred chow in my opinion. Perhaps a bit more on the older/traditional Chow than is seen these days. Athletic build and narrower more open face is the original Chow look. Breeders have purposely bred toward a stockier/closed face look in recent years, but she looks to be full on Chow.

Hi - your Belle looks like my Pumpkin. Think we have some pure Chows of the old school. Tell me what you think of Pumpkin - I posted it just before your post.

I do not believe there is a growing chart for them. Google searches are not very accurate. My baby at 8 weeks was tiny and he's the perfect size now. Yours might also be a runt. It's not a bad thing that he is small now. All puppies grow at different rates.
