I ate the last three in the box a little while ago, and they sure were good!

Next time you better ask me where the cookies are! I didn't drink from the mason jars, what was in there? Maybe if you do another one and it's cool enough I could load up the whole clan in the cargo van and we could camp out in the field. I could even bring brushes and combs for Vicster.

(And a trash bag for all the fur)

Just made it back home from a PERFECT WEEKEND away from home!!! The weather, food and especially the company was so exciting!!! GREAT to put faces with names. What BEAUTIFUL FURKIDS we all have

So many furkids that you couldn't decide who you wanted to pet and talk to next

Have some GREAT new experiences and firsts with my own furkids to add to my memory bank

I can't tell you how much fun it is to have soooooo many Chows and furkids that you just don't know which one you want to pet next

Kyra has put in an order for her own PERSONAL FAN for Christmas

I would of left her up there too, Sam....but you probably could of made money off of a video of her gettin' up there

I'm sure it was an accomplishment for her

I'll make a DEAL with ya !!! If you keep Kyra with you so I can get some sleep in the Motel.....I'll groom any Chow you can fit in your van

I LOVE a good challenge

The ONLY thing I forgot was Kyra's crate so I could put her butt in the back of the Motel Room, she BA BA'd anyone that moved in the parking lot of our Motel and the one next door too!!! I must of said....SHHHH Ky...its ok....Ky BE QUITE.....OK Ky....thats enough.... Kyra its ok....SHHHH!!!OH about 1000 times

Lesson Learned....the crate is the FIRST THING that goes in the car next time

Like someone didn't post about this Motel experience before

I guess you have to experience it for yourself...

Hey, I told you about those motels!

If we do it next year she can camp out with my crew, I will just bring something to drink so I can pass out, they can bark away at the wildlife!

Those cookies were good, I ate almost the whole box on the way home, LuLu had some too!

I'll add my thanks to Sherill and Mark for a wonderful gathering at their beautiful home. The opportunity to meet some of the Chow forum members with their beautiful/handsome Chows and honorary Chows was priceless.

The food was truely Southern and lots of it. Sherill's Vinegar Pie was most unusual but really quite delicious. Thanks Sherill!

A special thanks to Missi for helping Sherill and Mark prepare for the invasion and taking LOTS of photographs.

We enjoyed our day and hope we can meet again at another Chow Fest.

I don't know what we would have done if you hadn't brought that huge brisket???? So, I'm out of practice cooking for large groups...however thanks to you, we did have BBQ and right on time!

I gotta tell ya'll....Benny and Lady are extremely adorable!! Benny is in heaven when his daddy is close by.
He loves his daddy!!! Lady is total entertainment!
She bounces and prances around, twisting her butt, "come play with me...now!"

Hi Bama,

We got home about 10:30 last night, so I have now confirmed that it doesn't make any difference whether you go through Baton Rouge or Shreveport, it's the same time either way.

Thanks to you and Mark for one of the great weekends of my life. We all had a fantastic time, even it Benny didn't seem to be there much of the time. He said something about practicing some kind of suspended animation technique that Sophies is developing at the Chow Research Labs, but wouldn't eloborate since he claims I don't have a high enough Chow security clearance. It seems to be some sort of Zen/Meditation based thing that he was teaching Colonel over by the beer cooler when their pictures were taken. (Or they could have been just taking a nap by the fan.

)

He sure snapped out of it quick enough when the lovely Lulu walked in the door. So much for the meditation story! Obviously Benny prefers the full size, full figured girls.

(BTW, thanks for letting me in on the secret that he actually does like me some. He would sure never let on to it when I'm around.

)

I understand that Benny has to submit a trip report to Exhausted Leader Steel, but apparently he is using the same Zen techniques to develop it, since he is still sound asleep. Even Lady is napping after all the excitement.

Great food, Great friends, Great Chows, Great setting, Great weather and hosts with that GREAT Southern Hospitality --- Thanks again for a GREAT ChowFest!!!!!

Sherill and Mark, THANK YOU does not even begin to say enough for all that you did and allowing us all to invade your piece of paradise that you call home. It was truely a PERFECT spot for a Chowfest!!!

So, here are the individual shots that I tried to take of each of our chows!!! (and our honorary chow - Lady!)

Colonel - What a sweet and handsome boy! Bama and Mark are such amazing parents to him and he obviously loves them so much!!! Another incredible rescue chow. What idiot could give him up? Well, that is to Bama and Mark's benefit. Colonel is definitely Naomi's new boyfriend and she misses him so much already!

Your Benny is definitely a gentle giant! What a sweet and kind boy he is. I love that he let me brush him for a while. You certainly have taken great care of him! What a lucky boy to have you as a daddy and rescue him from the pound. I just want to cuddle up with Benny and give him big smooches!

Oh, your girls!!! They are incredible! KYRA is so gorgeous. I have never seen a blue chow in person. She definitely is a girl on the go and likes to keep busy. Surprised that she had enough energy left in her to stay up all night barking at the hotel!!! Uh, yeah, sorry for my bee-atch of a puppy snapping at her a couple times. I kept trying to tell Naomi that she just wanted to play and be her friend.

Nita and Marty I am so happy that you found us here!!! You are both such gracious and open hearts! I just love that Mimi is a Katrina rescue and it is so obvious all of the work that you have put into her. And so amazing at how wonderful she is after having lived on the streets for months! She simply adores Marty and is such a momma's girl too. She enjoyed spending some quality time with momma between her feet and under the table. Sweet angel. It is so apparent how much she loves you both!!!

Kathy you are such a sweetheart! Timber is so beautiful and I just love her hair and her color! She is so photogenic and such a loveable ball of fur! OH, I wish we all lived closer that we could hang out and let our chows play together! You were both such a joy to meet!

Well, you already know what I will say about your LuLu.........WOW!!!!! Holy cow, I've never seen a chow that big in my life! She amazing, gorgeous, stupendous, spectacular. And you are so right, I couldn't believe when I touched her paw that it was all paw, no fluff. I HAD to include a picture of her feet. Wow!!! She is simply amazing!!!

Oh, sweet sweet Black Betty! (bama, lama!) She is truly a lovely girl. I just love her sweet disposition and her white tail and hiney! I cannot get over how much hair she was blowing and how much Vicki was able to brush out of her! I know she could have brushed her all day and she still could have gotten more out!

Little Leela COULD NOT take her eyes off the video!! She was spellbound!!! She would love to someday meet some of her chow buds!!! She came up beside me as I was on the computer and sat and watched all the video!!
