A couple more photos:

The memorial candles:

*PB did fine on her recitation. Judy, she promised me she would do a version of the Litany of Saints. But thought it would be too long for ChowFest. We had wind chimes in the background as each chow's name was announced.

CF07 guest treats:

Yes, I think The Litany of the Saints would have been a bit long.
Mind you, we have a priest who visits us from London. An elderly Irish priest, and he can say Mass at the speed of light - so maybe his version would have done!
Sounds lovely though, your version. I am sure PB did beautifully and the windchimes would have tinkled right up to The Happy Hunting Grounds. :D

What a great looking bunch of humans and chows! Glad you guys had a good time.

It made me smile to see that Sophie and I were able to attend in spirit and in edible form, anyway. :D

Oh my they are all so gorgeous and they look so happy hanging out together.

Like Jeff said, nice picture of the vicious unpredictable chow breed!

And the memorial candles are lovely.

Just a quick announcement from your friendly Steering Committee

Your Chowfest looked as close to heaven as you can get here on Earth. I can't imagine what it felt like be surrounded by so many BEAUTIFUL Chows. The memorial candles were lovely and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing all the photos and videos.

The summer of Chow love!

Post by LucysSusanH »

Hey, everyone!

Great stills and video of CF07. Fabulous location, wonderful Chows, beautiful people. It made me cry a little to remember Lucy's "Chow look" that is now gone forever (she is doing much better, BTW)and laugh a lot to see Chows in party hats (who woulda thought?).

I never saw an answer to the question, "ARE there any Chow folks who don't drink alcohol?!"

Best to all,
Susan

Hi SUSAN!!! It's great to hear from you!!!

I hear you about that question! I figured, I guess not! Manalive, I'm gonna spend the sunday with a bunch of lushes so, let the Sangria pour! Actually, it was a tally for the CF07 commemorative wine. Needed to know we had enough for each guest.

I loved the chows in the party hats too! It was so fun putting them on them. I asked them if they wanted a hat, they held their chins up and let me put it on them. They wore it proudly, with dignity and showed the goofy chow spirit!

Kisses to the Herd's!

Mikki didn't attend chowfest but has a photo of her late big sister Luna to show here. Zhuyos mom sent us Luna's memorial candle. We lit the candle and placed it by Luna's picture. Very cute, little candle. Very timely too, Luna died Jul 22-06.

Thanks again for the memorial candle.

What gorgeous treats!! Your logo was just amazing! :D

Lou, what a sweet to include all of us who couldn't be there. I'm glad you all liked all our dishes.

The candles are so lovely. They brought tears to my eyes.

P.S. Karin, I have that picture frame too! :D There's a close-up of Special sleeping in mine. :D

I bought the chow frame some years ago. Luna was still alive, I thought it be nice to put her picture in it. The candle looks perfect in front of the picture. Wonder what my son will say, he thinks I'm losing it. Wait till he gets older.

So sorry I missed this one, how lovely all the chows look and their familys, wish I could have been there as well,
Not that many chow in Natal where we live but give me an idea that maybe it could be done here in S,A, as well, will work on the idea.
