MID-WEST CHOW FEST
Moderator: chowadmin
I vote for Springfield, OH. The reason is, I haven't found a dog park near Indianapolis that allows off leash fun. Also, I think Katalin is the furthest east that plans on coming, and Chowsrule is the furthest west. It looks about the same distance for them to both go. I have checked Springfield's hotels as well and there are about 6 that allow dogs. Here is a link to the park I found, someone please read through the rules and tell me if there are any that can ruin our chowfest. It won't open for me.

Thanks for thinking of us Audrey. Sounds great to me! I'm so excited!!
I looked at the rules, it says "no dangerous dogs as defined by law" so we just have to make sure there are no bans in that area. It also says no food for dogs or people.
I tried to copy and paste the rules, but I cna't get it to work.

please bring some extra bags to share the next time you come.
Always pick up after your dog, even outside the off-leash area.
• You are responsible for injuries inflicted by your dog.
Prevent injuries by supervising your dog at all times.
If your dog inflicts an injury, give your name and phone number to
the dog owner before leaving the area. You are legally responsible
for your dog(s) and any injuries caused by your dog(s).
• Supervise your children.
Prevent injuries by not allowing your children to run or scream
around the dogs. This area is not designated as a children’s play
area.

Pick up cigarette butts and other trash lying around; garbage cans
are provided.
Don’t let your dog dig holes

you all have an open invitation down here on the KY/TN line.
Dover Tn , Gateway to the Land Between the Lakes.
there is a leash law here but it is generally ignored , in tenneseee we are permitted to let them off leash and cross other folks land when we are on the way to hunt ,herd stock or "worry the coyote'

The weekend of May 19, 20th. Location as yet to be decided. I want more people to chime in on my Springfield suggestion, good or bad. I like the thought of there, mainly because there is a free fenced park where the runners can interact with the other chows, unencumbered by a lead. (that's away from their servants, in definition of runner) It is also a fairly large town, but not too large that it's a nightmare to navigate.
And of course, since it's only a weekend, it has to be close enough to get there in half a day. Tennesee sounds like a good time, but too far for me for a weekend. That would be more like a weeklong vacation for me to be able to go that far. You are more than welcome to come up north to meet us though- I would love to meet the infamous Gwrol!

Springfield, OH sounds ok for me. That's if I have or can get that weekend off. I'm not too sure about bringing all 3 of my kids, but I'd also hate to leave any one of them home, too. Hopefully, Asa will be fully recovered from his cruciate repair so he can romp with all the others. I think it will be so cool!

Of course, your place sounds good to me since I live in B'ham. I don't think I know exactly where you are.
I have friends in Eliazbeton, TN and my daughter lives in Nashville. Are you close to either?
