Anyone in these areas? I would love for Coda to meet up with other chows and find some playmates :O

I am in Houston; S.W. side of town. How old is Coda? My pup is 5 months old. He gets along great with other dogs, but still has the puppy mentality (meaning he loves to jump on and play silly with the dogs he plays with)

Sorry I forgot to check on here for a while! Coda is a bit over 4 months old now, precisely 18 weeks. Your pup sounds adorable! Coda's more shy and warms up to others slowly but she loves to play after she is more familiar. We go back to my mom's (west side of Houston) a lot and love the dog park in George Bush park. We're actually heading there this weekend if you'd like to take a trip to the dog park with us!

I don't hit the dog park much, but would love to go if you are going to be there. Just let me know when! I am only a mile or two from there.

I missed your post. We have been going non-stop for the past 8 weeks. I think we need a better system for meeting up. I will check back here every Friday to see if you are going to be in town that particular weekend.

We are going to take a trip to the dog park for some extra socializing/training this weekend. It would be great to see anyone in the greater Houston area.

Millie Bush Dog Park - Westheimer Parkway, Houston TX

Saturday morning is supposed to be gorgeous weather. Not too hot!

Hi Cindy,
I picked up my chow puppy - Romeo on labor day from Linda! I can't take him to the dog park yet but after he is cleared with all his shots we can meet up on a weekend. I live in Houston :)

Yay! I cannot wait to meet you and Romeo!

Which pairing is he out of? Let me know if you have any questions or need any tips. Linda and Michael are so good about giving me hands on training when I am lucky enough to meet up with them at various dog shows.

Cindy,
Can't wait to meet you and Chance too! just few more shots till Romeo is ready.
Romeo is out of Co-Pilot and Sprite, I think he resembles Sprite...as of now anyway :)
He is growing sooo fast, I just started him on puppy class, I taught him "sit" and " down" few weeks back. He is very smart and rarely have accident in the house. I adore him so much, he is my first puppy ever and I want to try to do everything right! He adores people...pretty much everyone but not so much other dogs...yet! He likes to sleep on the floor only! Absolutely hate being confined....I let him loose around the house when I go to work but will have someone come check/walk him or I will come home from lunch, he rarely has any accidents. My boyfriend works from home a lot so that helps too. How about Chance? Did you or have to crate train him at all?

I was able to see Pilot at the Amarillo dog show. He is a very nice looking dog.

It is great that he is picking up the potty training so well. I was lucky and brought Chance to work with me every day. He had a couple accidents in the far corner of the building when I let him out of my sight. I tried using a puppy gate at work, but he plowed them all over. He is a "bull in a china cabinet"

I bet chance gets lots of love and attention. I am in a condo and people stop me and takes pictures with Romeo, I met so many neighbors and people recognizes Romeo. They might not know me but they know Romeo for sure!

I've seen Romeos pictures and understand why he is getting all the attention. He is a doll! This is great socializing for him.

If anyone would like to meet up this weekend, there is a small dog show in Humble (8233 Will Clayton Pkwy) @ the Humble Civic Arena. We will be showing Chance around 11:45 on Saturday and 1:35 on Sunday.

I don't always have a lot of time to chat before a show, but would be happy to meet with anyone after the show. There are only a few chows entered so it should go pretty quickly.

Cindy,
It will be better if we could meet up on a weekend, I probably won't have time to go home and pick up Romeo and then go to the park. Which park do you take Chance to? I am pretty much free on the weekends ( except this coming up Sunday), let me know! :P

This weekend we have a dog show in Austin, but I am free all of next weekend. We usually go to the Millie Bush Dog Park at Hwy 6 and Westheimer. But we are open to visiting other areas if you have a fun place.
