Oh my! That might be. But didn't you say this one is 8 years old? I've been trying to get ahold of Bonnie.

They did say they thought she was 8 years old, but then Colonel was thought to be old, as well. I don't believe I would let age discrepency stop my inquiry.
Let us know?

Is Bonnie local in Decatur/Springfield TV market?
If so, please get me in touch with her.

Thanks,
Sherill

Don't let the shelter's age guesstement throw you off. This does look like Molly, I compared the picture here with the two Jeff posted and it's a very close likeness. Close enough that someone needs to go take a look I think.

I'm praying that it is her.

Bama, EXCELLENT!!!!!

I just called the shelter and spoke to Lonnie. I had him get a female shelter worker go to her and call out the name "molly". The shelter worker said the chow was resting and when she called out "molly", her ears perked up and she sat up. Also, where they found Molly was extremely, extremly close to the site where Sweetpea posted ... 22nd and something and Pershing. He told me the exact location but I did not right it down. And the date she was picked up was very close to the dates she was found. Also, I have a close up photo of Molly's nose and the markings are very similiar. I left Lonnie with both Becky and Bonnie's names and phone numbers. I asked him to put a hold on her.

There are three TV stations that cover Decatur news:
1. WAND TV, Decatur's local channel:
http://www.wandtv.com/

2. WCIA, Champaign/Urbana's TV station: http://www.illinoishomepage.net/content ... contactus/.

3. WCIS, Springfield's TV station: http://www.wics.com/aboutus/about_us.shtml

The big AM radio station in town is WSOY. It has a talk/news format, so they might carry a story about this. I think this is WSOY website: http://www.wsoyam.com. There is also Decatur FM station called Y103 at: http://www.Y103.com. Might also try WDZQ at http://www.95q.com/home.php. Millikin University has a radio station. They might be willing to run a story. Station is WJMU at: http://www.millikin.edu/wjmu/.

Local newspaper is the Decatur Herald and Review. Don't know if they would run a special interest piece or not. Here is there website: http://www.herald-review.com/

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone working at Tate&Lyle or ADM. My dad has been retired for too long, so no more contacts left.

Here are some of the shelters in Decatur:

Homeward Bound Pet Shelter
1720 Huston Drive
Decatur, IL 62526
Phone: (217) 876-1266
Fax: (217) 876-1604
Email:HomewardBoundPetShelter02@yahoo.com

Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County
2890 N. Martin Luther King Dr.
Decatur, IL 62526
Phone: 217-876-0000
Email: contact@humanesocietyofdecatur.com

Macon County Animal Control and Care Center
2820 E. Parkway Dr.
Decatur, IL 62526
Phone: 217-425-4508

There is also a clinic that does rescues:
Decatur Animal Clinic
Address: 1445 E.Pershing Road
Decatur, IL 62526
Contact: Diane Pyle
Phone: (217) 877-4244
Fax: (217) 877-0755

Sorry this is so long. I thought I should send as much information as I could come up with.

As the others have said don't let the age that the shelter guesses keep you from checking. Teddie was marked as 5 years old by the sheter when in actuality he still had baby teeth.

I really hope this is her. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Also, It could be possible too that they meant 8 months and not 8 years.

How will you know for sure whether or not it is her?

Good for you! I have been speaking with a shelter worker named, Tisha. I too asked her to go and call out "Molly"
she said she would. But, I was to call her back. Now, I'm not going to call, because YOU got the answer!
Good job!
Oh my, I hope this is Molly! If it isn't, well we have another chowgirl to rescue!!!

I called them, we are heading there with a harness to spring her The reason it says 8 is because if they don't give them a age it defaults to 8. We are meeting Bonnie so I'll let you know when I get back.
I'm so excited!!!!!

I'm pretty sure it is Molly. What are the chances that a female, creme colored chow chow was found at extremely close to the site and area that Becky posted and picked up by the shelter during the days there was not "site" of her. Plus, her ears perked up and she sat up when her name was called. Pooh Bear wouldn't budge at the shelter when the name "claire" was being called. Her expression... I'm ignoring you because I don't know who the heck "claire" is.

I'm pretty sure it's Molly. Bonnie and Becky will have to confirm it. Now we have to wait.

See Becky? I told you to believe she was still alive. That is her- look at her nose. One look in her mouth should tell the tale! This is happy news!

I just called Lonnie at the Macon County Animal Control.
He is going to put a tag on "Molly" (#1) stating to hold her.
I told him that I would call him back when we got in touch with Bonnie and made a positive ID.
So, for now Molly #1 is on hold.

WHERE'S BONNIE....?

Sweetpea, I haven't gotten any info from you. Did you pm me or something? Or, did you email me?

I know Babs64, it is pretty amazing isn't it? What a truly incredible group of people on this site, I really mean that. I just feel so lucky to be a part of this site especially during times like these when people pull together for the love of an animal. Makes me wanna cry sometimes. By the way, any idea how long Molly (and I'm praying that it is her) has been at the shelter??
