Janet,
I think that is wonderful that the kids are following along.
Aren't you the smart one?
Stories like this of animal rescue are great for kids and all of us to share in.
Maybe, Lulu's Cinnamon and our Colonel could star in a Disney film together! However, I think our Colonel might work cheap...for salmon treats! Right Alan and Sharon?

Dogdad,
With all your furkids, you could star in the movie,
THE OLD MAN WHO LIVED IN A SHOE...has so many furkids, he didn't know what to do!!

Alan and Sharon,
I think JR and Cheyenne could star in the western movie;
HOW CHOW WILL TRAVEL
(you may have to add a set of bull horns to the front of that caddy of yours)

Alan and Sharon,

And I bet if you changed your name to Paladin you could also have some cards made.

What? Are we all around 135 years old on this site. Oh never mind I just noticed it said How Chow not Have Chow.
“...There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because conscience tells one that it is right.” MLK

HUBBY, MARK AND THE COLONEL IN NASHVILLE!!!! Yeah! :D :D

Just made it to daughter, Ashley's house! Mark said The Colonel is so gentle that he didn't hesitate to intoduce The Colonel to Ashley's two little Shih Tzu's, Madi and Lily (our grand-puppies).

The Colonel walked in, (on leash) he stopped to smell the Shih Tzu's (off leash) and said, "evening ladies, what is that fragrance you're wearing, you smell lovely this evening, are you wearing that just for me"?
Then, the two Shih Tzu's walked away like, "hmmm, smooth talker, huh? Well, you're cute, but you're not our type, so we'll just sniff you and leave you, we're looking for a marrying kind of guy...you're just passing through"!

Madi and Lily simply sniffed The Colonel and walked away to sit down. Of course, all was extremely calm, how else does a dignified gentlemen and lady(s) act?

Mark and The Colonel are still on track to be here around noon tomorrow! Yeah! :o :o

OMG, guess what The Colonel did last night at my daughter's house????

Ok, all was fine, everyone relaxing on the deck while The Colonel, along with my daughter's two shih tzu's, went out in the yard to do their business.
All of a sudden, The Colonel lifts his leg and pittled on top of Madi!!!!!!!!!

Uh hmm, so his dating skills are a bit primative, ok?
He's still young (3 yr old), I think he's too young to date and get serious with Madi anyway!

We'll have to address his young boy ways when he gets home!

ETA: noon today!

Oh how awful...awfully funny actually!
When Cheyenne 1st came home and JR's walks went from one leash to two, he would wait until she went to piddle on a tree and then go up and piddle on the same tree with his lifted leg dangerously close to Cheyenne's head!!! They both have gotten each other on ocassion.

Alan and I will both be out when the Colonel gets home...we will check in when we return.
Give him big hugs and kisses from us.

Love,
Sharon and Alan

Sorry I haven't commented on this wonderful journey, I contracted a flu bug and was so out of it, all I could do is read. I made one comment on a different post, then needed a lower altitude.

I believe I heard Colonel Atlas say, as he was heading through Kentucky (in that southern, Ronnie Van Zant voice), "Here I come, Alabama!"

Loved his photos. He has a beautiful smile. It is a true testament to his character that he could get neutered on Thursday, and still smile on Friday!

You know how it goes, LuLu...all good intentions go right out the window, the second her special boy walks in the room. She has probably already mentioned to her husband she needs to check in here, just as soon as...

bama's husband hasn't seen her this giddy since their wedding night, I'm sure! I'd like to see the video of her meeting the Colonel. Colonel is probably wondering why this woman keeps squealing and kissing and hugging him...but no problem, he can go along with that!
