Wooooooo Hooooooooo!!!

Mark just called......crossed the Ohio border into Kentucky!!!!
There making a quick pit stop (and maybe picking up a little moonshine)!
They will go all the way across Kentucky and into Tennessee tonight.

I told Mark that our forum friends are cheering and singing;

^^^^ :D SWEET HOME ALABAMA ^^^^^
:D :D :D :D
He just laughed and laughed!!
Mark is sooooooo happy driving our new chowboy home!
He said he now understands why Alan fell in love with him so quickly on his part of the journey! He's such a loveable little chowboy!

Hi All

Just walked in .What a great day for a drive. First of all Simba AKA ? is the most gentle loving dog I have every meet and I dont mean for a Chow Chow I mean of any dog .Unreal

Ok lets start with thanking Bama for making the internet connection with her fur baby
The kennel Cuyahoga County Kennel could not have been more profesional Very clean and new. But most important they dont open until noon but they had a staff member be available at 10 am so I could get a early start and the paper work was done when I got there.
Ok poor nameless one aka Simba came out with a huge clear shield on so he would not chew his stitches, well first he ran head on into the glass front door, then he could not see the curb on the way to the grass to pee Ok so off with this . Then I got him into the car with a bowl of water. Within 10 minutes it was all lick hands lick face as he jumped to the front seat, So the next 3 hours was me massaging him and him making squealing and grunting and snorting sounds every time Istopped. Oh yeh plus 3 brushings while we were on the road. Now I have a fur car.
Meet Mark and made the transfer.

I am so happy that Simaba has meet the right people for his personality as Mark and his wife are gems.

Well the rest of the story is up to Bama.
By all
Alan

Simba # 23 has a name....finally!
Contrary to popular belief his name will not be; Atlas!

His name is, "The Colonel" (Kur-null)

It's a personal thang! Mark and I agree this is the name our new chowboy should proudly bare.

Alan,

What a day, huh? You know all those massages you gave Colonel? Mark says you spoiled him already! Colonel prefers the professional massage that only you can give him.
We are but mere amatures, how can we ever follow your act???

So, you got furry car seats now, huh? You know the TV show...PIMP MY RIDE? Colonel says, you can consider your ride officially pimped with luxury fur seats!

**Truly, I do hope it's not too much trouble to get it cleaned up...sorry.

Thanks for taking so much time and giving of yourself today.

Sharon.......
Thanks for posting all the updates on the first leg of the journey! I am looking so forward to the photos of the first leg!!!

You two are both the greatest! Chow hugs from The Colonel!!

Colonel as in KFC? Fried Chicken sunday specials at Bama's?

Served while you are watching Pimp my ride and Seinfeld?, most likely Real World, Road Rules, Maui fever and true story also, never catch me watching that stuff.

Pimp my ride? Seinfeld? You have some weird TV watching going on. So anyways what did you think of this weeks pimp my ride, oh never mind, I never watch it.

Congradulations on the new Puppy, Ah was his Name, Simba, Atlas, Colonel or Ala-Bama

Now that I think about It I kind of Like, ALi or ALy-Bama

Hey Bama, you gotta be careful with a name like that. There is an old story by the Cajun humorist Justin Wilson that goes:

Two guys came to south Louisana to hunt birds, but needed to rent a bird dog. The only one the outfitter had available was "Old Sarge" at $150 a day. Well, they thought that was pretty expensive, but decided to pay it rather than not being able to hunt at all.

By the end of the day, they had had the best day of bird hunting in their whole life. Sarge knew every bird in the county by their first name, and just where they would be at any given time. He was the most fantastic bird dog they had ever seen.

The next year, they came back, and wouldn't have any dog other than "Old Sarge". He was now renting at $200 a day. They paid it without a second thought, and had another perfect day.

For the next year, all they could talk about was going bird hunting with "Old Sarge" again. When they finally got back to the outfitter's place, they told him, "we want Old Sarge, and we don't care what he costs. He's the best bird dog in the world!"

The outfitter said, "Well, that'll be ten bucks"
The guys said, "No, you don't understand. We gotta have Old Sarge, the dog you charged us $200 a day for last year. He was worth every cent of it. We want Old Sarge!"

The outfitter said, "Well, Old Sarge ain't what he used to be. Some city fellers called him, "Colonel". Now all we can get him to do is sit on his butt and bark!"

OOOOOOH! Wow! There he is!!!! I've got goose bumps!!!

What great photos! Great job with the camera Alan...
Sharon taught you well!!!

It looks like I have two handsome men coming home to me!!!
Colonel is so sweet looking! I can see those weepy little eyes...we will get those taken care of soon.
We'll get him groomed and put a little meat on his bones!

Mark was certainly impressed when he met with you, Alan. Even more, his heart was very moved, as is mine by your willingness to pick up Colonel and transport him across Ohio!
Sharon, I know how much you wanted to ride along, but then who would have kept us so updated?
Kudos, chow hugs and kisses to ALAN and SHARON for taking care of the first leg of the journey!!

You guys are the best!!!

I have to wait one more day to see my hubby and The Colonel.
They should be here by noon tomorrow!

Jeff,

My goodness, of course, I only watch educational television.
I would never stoop to watching shows silly programs like
Seinfeld, South Park, Mind of Mencia, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, American Justice, and American Idol!
What is this world coming to, anyway?

Jerryo,
Ah hah, hah, hah!!!
Funny joke!
At this point The Colonel can sit and bark and do whatever he wants to do...I just want him and hubby to get here safely!

He has about the happiest look on his face that I have ever seen. This guy is gonna be a real character.

Speaking of character, Alan obviously has loads of it, or JR and Cheyanne would have a new room mate. This has to be one of the most lovable animals on the planet.
