TUFFS OF HAIR COMING OFF...
our chow is 10 months old. She is shedding like CRAZY. so much i'm scared she'll go bald. Not so much on her body, but her legs.. we can just pull of her hair. Is that normal? Is it a condition? it's scary...

That's how chows normally blow coat. The undercoat which is shorter than the long guard hairs comes out in tufts.

I've tried to brush them to help get the tufts of hair out in a managable fashion, but that doesn't seem to help on the under coat of hair that they have. I'm at a loss here. Is there anything that I can do to help the fluff come off? Every time my dogs move, you see the fluff flying off of them. And then sometimes, they'll just lose handfuls of it at a time.
If you took your chow to a groomer, or to one of those self grooming places where you can groom them with the proffessional tools, and use the blow dryer, it's AWESOME! Those blow dryers blow a majority of the hair out. We always take Buddha to a groomer, and that's the biggest reason. We haven't been able to get him in (next week, thank God!), and we have hair EVERYWHERE!j
Thanks so much sweetpea!!!
