clippers to groom Chows
I have a mixed breed dog with Chow/German Sheppard. What kind of clippers would be the best to use on his coat?
depends on what exactly you are trying to do with the clippers.
Its usually not recommended that chows be shaved, however sometimes severe matting makes it necessary for the health of the dog. The one time I had to shave a rescue chow, we used heavy duty Oster grooming clippers and still burned thru 4 blades. We also didn't go down to the skin either, but her fur still grew back weird. We brushed out her remaining inch of fur, but it still took forever to grow back.
My dog had surgery on his leg in July and his fur is just now to the point where it completely covers his skin.
