Dew Claws

Post by wokman »

Abby my middle aged adopted Female Chow Chow had to have her ingrown dew claws clipped. My Veterinarian is a little fearful of her even though she was muzzled. After two attempts they were able to hold her and get the job done. They told me that this type of Claw growth may need clipping every four to six weeks. I have never seen this before, the claw usually sheds the tip in my experience. Abby is starting to accept grooming a little more, something her previous owners may not of done much of. I can understand the Veterinarians fear and plan to get a cage type muzzle and increase the amount of brushing now that she has settled in. :postit-eek:

Try keep it clean, can u bandage it? . It all depends on how bad as to a vet visit. If it dont get better they can't stitch it back it will have to come off. ..
