What combs or brushes should I use?

Post by Ylaartim »

What combs or brushes should I use for thicker and fuller coat? My Apollo is 3mos and has a more fluffier hair than his sibs. I want to maintain it. Im only familiar w/ a slicker brush since that's the only one we've been using on Apollo. :)

Thanks in advance for you suggestions!

BTW, Im so happy I found this site! All members are nice, friendly, helpful, and thoughful! I'm learning more and more as I read through this site. God bless all!

PS, Chow owners around Manila, Philippines, maybe we can have our own chow fest! Lol :)

Random thought (not about brushes). You should look up Crystal PawPaw on Facebook!

I've always used a slicker, a pin brush, and a comb.

Ditto. But the main thing is technique and frequency. You really need to part the fur so you can get down to the skin, and you need to do it often so the fur won't get matted. Don't forget his nails too; buy a clipper or keep them filed.

I have used a slicker brush and a rake brush they both work well. I use the rake brush for the under coat it works really well on double coated dogs. If you would like I can tell you how I do it but i'll wait for a reply first.
