Any time you want.
I would use a gentle, puppy shampoo and make sure to rinse, rinse and rinse.
Also, you must make sure to dry thoroughly using a dryer, so there are no wet or damp spots that could lead to skin irritations.

And do not bathe him weekly. This is too much and could dry out his skin, even if it is a puppy shampoo. NEVER use people shampoo, not even for babies.

5 weeks is really young to be away from mommy, why so early?

Although they do bath show chows every week and most don't have any problems.
But, I guess they really do a lot of rinsing and a whole lot of drying and conditioning.

Alf was bathed weekly most of his life (smelly, dirty chowboy!) & never had an issue. Just rinse, rinse, rinse & dry, dry, dry! Millie only gets bathed as required & does fine =D=

Please look in the 'best of training' section for how to teach your puppy bite inhibition. being away from his / her siblings as this early an age can cause a lot of issues & this is your most important one to address asap.
