Bathing daily is bad for your puppy, or any dog. Unless your Chow is filthy, which no small puppy should be getting anyway, a bath is unnecessary. I bathe my 2 girls twice a year, whether they need it, or not.

I never, (unless they were filthy as stated above) given mine a bath untill they were about 6 months of age. Then they go to the groomer for a bath 2 times a year as well. (but.. I hate clipping the nails.. so they go 1 time a month to the groomer just for that... lol.. call me chicken but Im not gonna be the one to clip the nail to short.. heck no. )
Chow's, I believe, naturaly have dry skin and bathing them that much would only make it worse.

Well I bathe my chows (which started from the time I got them) bathing them once a week. Bathing them once a day I would not advise for any dog, (unless its a show dog and must look its best 24/7 going to shows every day).

In my research of I've read many of times that a chow should be bathed no more than twice a year. Also I've read that if you bathe your chow often that the coat will get floppy and limp (yes i know I bathe my chows often hold on). Well, me bathing my chows on an average of 52 times a year I proved that this is not true ( I follow a strict schedulle on every Sunday from 1pm - 6 pm). They have a typical harsh double coat which is required for a chow (and might I add looks far beytter than my local competitors) *you don't mind my samll brag lol? :)*.

It also said that the bath removes the natural oils, yes it dooes, but it moves the dirt that can't be brushed out that are attached to the oils (which you be suprised to see how much a weeks worth of playing, running, etc can cause a dog to be dirty, imagine and entire year). The oils return to their coat with in a 1 day or 2. Proper nutrient intake, shampoos and conditioners assist with better results.

Might I add that I never had a problem with my dogs skin and coat due to the frequent bath, no dry skin causing itching, hotspots and other problems.

I have heard the same thing to only bath your Chow 2x's a year.
What I have been doing with Niosa is besides brushing her everyother day using; Evsco Groom Aid Spray, what a job since she is shedding  My house is starting to look like a big dust bunny... I'm always cleaning up hair!!!
Anyway, I also use a dry shampoo once a week on her. Niosa did not like it at first  Now all I have to say is "who wants to get pretty" Niosa comes running..... She thinks it's time for her doggie massage & treat :D
I agree, if Niosa is dirty, dirty she will be getting her bath, which she had already 2 since we got {2 months ago}.....I will brush her outfirst & use a cream rinse after she is shampooes. I make sure she has another doggie massage  I make sure Niosa is dried... I am afraid of the HOTSPOTS, that I hear about.....

When Koda was a little puppy (he's a BIG puppy now LOL) I bathed him too frequently. I hated him being slobbered all over by Sam and not lookng as good as I thought he should. I didn't see any ill effets from bathing him that much, but I have decided that keeping him brushed out and groomed on a regular basis keeps him looking almost as nice and it sure prevents the bath tub battle. He doesn't smell bad... just that chow musk smell. Molly has had one bath since I got her 3 weeks ago. Being a cream, she really looks dirtier faster, but I have decided that she doesn't need the baths as often either, just a good brushing, which she does not appreciate as of yet. LOL

Instead of bathing, maybe you can clean your chow with a wet towel eveyday. It's said the shampoo can't be used too often, but as we all know, chows can be in water all wet and have nothing every day.

I've also read its not good to bathe too often. It's just in the last few months that Dakota has been getting bathed more frequently and thats only because she has an incontinence problem (poor girl... we start new medication for that this week) So I kinda do a half-bath type of thing where I plop her in the tub and just do her "undercarriage" and her back-end

Before the incontinence, she'd be lucky to get one bath a year and my vet said that was just fine. Her skin looked good, and she never, ever smelled so.......but things have changed now.
