Harley?

Post by txladybug »

Hello everybody,I'm sure this has been discussed before but I just need your opinion's,Harley is all over the map,he loves to run chase butterfly's,draggonfly's over the pond!!!(yeks)I am really getting a work out! But the problem is that i noticed lastnight that I could hear a tiny popping sound when he walks? He doesn't seem to be in any pain anywhere on his arms or legs? Do you think he could have hurt he's knee or hip and I didn't hear it! At four months old he is bad to the bone!!! (In a good way!) Debbie

Debbie, I've never heard anything like that with Special before. The others might know better what it is. Keep us posted!

I would think that if something was hurt, he'd be showing it, or at least limping. If you're really worried about it just take him into the vet...or maybe just call the vet, at least to give yourself some peace-of-mind. I know sometimes my knees will crack when I walk, but it doesn't hurt. I honestly don't know about dogs though. Good luck and keep us updated!

Look at the recent health forum thread titled, "Murgo". There are two links concerning torn or compressed 'meniscus' mentioning the clicking or snapping sound they make when folded over.

'Meniscus' is correct, at least in humans, that is what the orthopedic surgeon told me. He told me surgery may or may not help, it is iffy. I have this same problem with my own knees. I would be interested to know what the vet says about your dog.

Hi ya..

I have just had my other dog operated on beause he had ripped his cruciate ligament in his knee, you can sometimes hear a popping noise from that. When i took him to the vet the first time they missed it, it was only when my mum said that her dog had ripped his years back and she knew because when he walked you could hear a clicking/popping noise. I would most certainly take him to the vets and ask them to check this out...

Weird, I now hear a clicking or popping sound when Solo (renamed from Polo) walks around. It seems to be in one of his back legs. He doesn't favor either leg but its worth looking into on our next vet visit.

Debbie:
Sounds like your tyke is just enjoying life plus everything in the yard. How cute.

I've never heard of this before either. Interesting.

Keep us posted. I hope all will be ok.
