Chewing on the same spot

Post by alicehuang830 »

Hi all,
Happy holidays~
My Romeo is 5 and 1/2 months old. Happy and healthy, except lately I noticed he has been chewing at the same spot next to his balls to be specific. Was wondering if anyone have any idea what it could be .....

Hotspot. Vet should be able to give you a spray that will sooth it and help to stop him from going to the area. Not looking too bad, so don't delay. If he keeps at it he will likely pull all the fur out and create a really raw looking area.

You've probably done this, but check closely to make sure there's no foxtail/burr/thorn/splinter near the hotspot. If the spray doesn't work and he keeps at it, you may need to put a cone (or similar gadget) on him. He'll hate that and you may need to rearrange furniture around the house so he doesn't run into too many things. But sometimes that's the only way to prevent chewing & licking of a sore or wound. Hopefully it won't come to that and the spray will ease the itch.
