Winston ate Bread tie
ok Chow Chow and dog friends.
Winston ate by accident a bread bag tie (little flat plastic clip 1" square) this afternoon. He's off his food tonight and thinking its jammed/ caught in his stomach. Cutting all food until vet visit tomorrow. Any ideas or suggestions ?
Doing some searching, suggestions to feed, bread, brown rice, pumpkin soup to help encase the edges and let it pass ? Just gave him some tuna and bread, midnight here in Oz so fingers crossed for the morning, also has some drool starting. Is it worth taking him for a walk to help dispodge it ?

Re: Winston ate Bread tie
A lot will depend on the age/size of Winston. As an adult, something that size will most likely pass. About a 100 yrs ago I had a Peke pup that swallowed a penny. Too big to move through his digestive tract and surgery was necessary. Also, depending on the circumstances, it may have been chewed into a smaller size.
I would think that if it doesn't pass normally, sorry for the bad news, but you are going to have to follow around and check, then xrays will be needed to determine where it may have lodged. Some areas will be worse than others. Again, depending on his size and the location of the tie, home laxative methods may or may not help.
