fur falling out

Post by Lou_2010 »

Hi
Wondering if anyone can help, my chows fur keeps falling out on the inside back legs and all around her bum I catch her scratching sometimes she has red spots on her legs and belly that look loke bites, I have a feeling its seasonal as she has finished her season and now her fur has started to fall out.

Has anyone experienced this

Many thanks Louise

Louise,
you need to see a Vet.
Those are either so called hot-spots, caused by allergies or ticks and flees.
It also can be mange which is much worse as is it caused by mites and needs immediate treatment.
Red spots, scratching and loosing fur together is not seasonal or normal
Best regards

My chow has same situation as yours, what I did is that I bring him to the vet because I don't want it to get worse. And the vet told us that it is an allergy cause by eating seafood's (Prawn) which I wonder where did he get. Then later on I found out that it was our house maid who gave it to him not knowing it is not good for dogs. But he's okay now after the immediate treatment. I should suggest that you must see your vet first before doing any actions or treatment.
