Oral growth/tumors

Post by wokman »

I found information by Googling and on PetMd. On PetMd use the drop down menu on the left, Conditions, Cancerous and Non-Cancerous growths in mouth.

Here is another website that is really good for all dog problems...much technical detail, research done and pictures.

and for lingual/mouth cancers:

Please check your pet(s) mouth and get their dental cleanings. Do research and check all your options. Even though a chow or any pet is diagnosed with cancer you can still extend the life of your pet and they can still enjoy and have a quality life.

To detect dental problems, watch if your chow is chewing with its head sideways, begins to consistently eat less food or has any change in behavior. Each chow is different. At a minimum, do monthly body and mouth checks. Catching things at the very beginning or even at the very beginning of an intermediary stage is the key.

Much health to you and all fur and non-fur family.

Purple kisses and hugs forever.
