swollen *Censored Word*
hi i have my 6 months old female chow chow. its her first heat. I wonder if its normal for her to have swollen v@gin@. its been 2 weeks now since she started her first heat and yet she is still in heat.

We never had a female dog (yet) so can't give any tips but vibes that your dog is just fine. Would you consider fixing her?

yes, its normal. the heat can last anywhere from two to four weeks depending on the dog, but the high end of the scale is unusual. the 1st heat is normally lighter and will attract (somewhat) less attraction from intact males.
Make sure you consider cleanliness during the heat. You want to make sure the area is cleaned to prevent bacterial infections.
