Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
Henry has just turned six. I have asked the vet to check his front legs a couple of times since he was a puppy as he sometimes stumbles and limps a little when we have been on long walks, he doesn't seem to be in pain and is his usual self. The vet has never felt anything possibly wrong.
Today we went to the dog park and Henry had a lovely smiley happy time. About half way round he started limping, it didn't stop him running and chasing dogs and he still didn't want to come home. Now we are home and he is really limping on his left front leg, he still doesn't seem to be in pain(but he must be) and has jumped up for a bit of cheese. He just doesn't seem to be stressed out at all.
Should I try to take video of him limping to show the vet, I have felt up and down his leg (Henrys' not the vets )and he just lets me, he just doesn't seem to be bothered at all, but I am, my poor baby

Re: Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
Sorry to hear that. I guess it is not that painful but it has some degree of pain that Henry opts to limp. Dogs have a habit of limping, they know it'll hurt if they insist on using that leg. Henry takes care of it by limping. Most of the time, limping goes away the next day. But if it is persistent, and involves the same leg, request an x-ray or ultrasound to see if it is the bone or some inflammed ligaments that refuse to go away for good. Do take him to the vet and see if something is wrong or inflamed. Best regards.
P.S. Check the underside of the paw, maybe something is stuck there. or wounded.

I have checked his paws and looked under the fur and between his toes. Poor old thing keeps following me around like usual limping badly. I guess its a trip to the vet later this week.

Re: Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
Hope to hear from you after Henry's check up with the vet.
Re: Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
OH took Henry for his morning walk, the limping stopped by the bottom of the path. I'll keep an eye on him and try to get some 'footage' to show the vet. You know what it's like you take the car to the garage because it's making some strange noise but doesn't do it for the mechanic...

I've also been known to take my camera to the vet.Piff Poff wrote:OH took Henry for his morning walk, the limping stopped by the bottom of the path. Just tell the vet Henry's been limping, he's getting older, it's time for some x-rays.
I'm glad that he's not in pain!
