Eugene Pants alot!

Eugene Pants alot!
We have a chow named Eugene and he keeps panting. Even if he's at rest I can hear him breathe heavily and he does drink a lot of water. Thought it's true that he's still cautious of other people in the house like : barking and growling when he sees or hears my brothers come at my room.
He has complete vaccines and kind of aloof. He won't even let me hug him, he would crouch and get away, but he is happy and excited when me and my boyfriend goes home and whenever we play with him.
Still the panting disturbs me and i hope he's not sick or anything.
