This information is a few years old but depending on the situation, there are organizations that will help with medical costs if you qualify. You might want to ask your vet if they know of any local organizations that can help. At my furkids' vet, they have a list of organizations they provide.
I hope your girl is doing okay.

http://www.imom.org ...this is supposed to be one of the more helpful sites. They offer grants to qualified applicants to help with vet bills.

http://www.carecredit.com ....this is actually kind of like a credit card type deal. They give you an amount that you can charge on the program. It does have to be paid back but it is either low interest or no interest at all. For anyone else interested, this is also an option for people needing to visit the doctor or dentist and cannot afford it.

i checked with the places you listed. they were nice but said no.i took her to another vet and unless you have lots of money, you just have to let nature take its course. i give her natural remedies especially for dogs and i pray and i love her.

My last chow had glaucoma and I went to a specialist also and it was pricey the first visit but the follow up visits after were not as expensive and he gave me drops. Did you check to see if every visit is $300. 00 since you already paid once. ?? And can't your regular Vet call the specialist and ask what meds your dog needed? I hope you are able to get some answers and some meds .. I'd call the specialist office and explain your situation ..

she's taking a natural remedy. the vets [3] have said no medicine will really help. all the specialist can do is take her out and put a fake one in . that would be several thousand dollars. she is 15 and doesn't really seem slowed down by much. stilll chases the cats and lizards etc. btw i was sitting with a cat on the arm of my chair princess came over looked at her smelled her and just walked on. i think my cat was freaking out. the cat is 20 years old and healthy as a kitten. i have 3 cats and 1 dog all together.
