bumps on inside of ear

Has anyone come across bumps on the inside of the ear "flaps" - ie, the part that sticks up? the vet's checked out his inner ear, all clear there and she didn't seem overly comcerned about them. They're almost like little fluid filled hive type things, they seem to be itchy when picked at but ok when left alone, they both have it although Genghis more than Mika... I'm thinking maybe the warmer weather, Mika gets little bumps on her eyelids some times in warmer weather but I'm not sure...any ideas?

Since they both get them, does it happen at specific times of the year, such as spring during a seeding cycle?

Seems to be in spring and summer, I was thinking a reaction to bug bites or an allergy...hope its not a food allergy - don't think it is... thanks1
