Can you believe it....
My Steely boy has allergies. FLOP! .... we WERE having nicer weather, snow was melting and the grass was starting to be exposed bla bla bla.... all of the sudden Steels eyes were watery, runny and it looked like the fur was falling out around his eyes (but it really wasn't.. just wet). Since I have experienced this before with one of my other chows.. I knew what it was... gave him a benadryl (sp?) and it cleared up. But now we have 12 inches of snow back on the ground as of this morning.
He didn't have allergies before but I think it is because he never really had a YARD... he was on a tie out unless we went for a walk. Poor baby!
keep the benadryl on hand!

Sophie too, I have to wipe her eyes out twice a day, what a pain.

I posted on this subject a few days ago and Kiwani suggested that I get MSM sulphur supplements for the chows to help with the pollen allergies. I found some for humans at the health food store over the weekend and started giving it to them. I am going to try taking it myself and see if it helps with my allergies too. She also said it would help lower the inflammation on Boogie's ACL injury.

Thanks for the tip, I hate to see her suffer with the seasonal stuff.

I have been giving Boogie 1 - 1000 MG pill a day. The bottle says an adult human should take up to 4 - 1000 MGs a day so I figured he would be okay with 1.
