Diamond Dog Food Recall

Post by Rogansmommy »

This has been on several other boards. Diamond has had some toxin issues in it's foods, causing several deaths in NY. I know some people here feed Diamond. Apparently, Diamond is not eager to make this known. :(

There was another brand about a year or two ago on the news in the bay area that was killing dogs, The company said if your dog died from the food they would give you a refund or a free bag of food, gee how nice of them. Then the next day we were at pet food express and the sales guy was trying to sell the same food to some people with a new puppy, i told them about the news story and not to buy it so they bought good old Nutro.

Diamond Pet Foods have posted the production codes(and an explanation of how to read them) for the contaminated dog food on their website. If you have any question that you might have bought this food you can check this website.

I was watching Fox and Friends (Fox News Channel) before I went to work this morning, and they did a piece on the Diamond Dog Food recall. Must be pretty bad if cable news is airing it. They said it had to do with some kind of fungus in the dog food. 17 deaths so far and I don't remember how many reported sick dogs. What a shame. How do you replace a beloved animal killed by the dog food it ate? I will never feed Diamond.
