Recommended Food & Snack for Puppy!

Hello everyone,
We will be receiving our first Chow at the end of this month and are excitedly trying to prepare for her arrival!

Can you please recommend healthy food brand options as well as treats?
Any input/help would be appreciated!

Congratulations on your anticipated Chow. Lots of brand recommendations would depend upon where you are located. Most dog food brands are not worldwide, so that will make a huge difference.

Some things are universal however. Ingredient list should identify prominent items 1st. Look for meat products and avoid fillers as 1st several ingredients. Supermarket type brands tend to head the avoid list. Look for where the product is produced. China has very low standards for pet food and often times include large amounts of lead residue...best to completely stay away.

Most reputable breeders will recommend a brand and formula. Probably a good place to start. Changing diets can cause upset tummies.

Treats are particularly tough as Chows can be very selective. Some are very treat geared while others could not care a bit. Trial and Error is my best recommendation.

These chow chow puppies should be fed with freshly cooked food that does not contain any preservative. This makes it easier for these little puppies to digest their food properly.
